Marwan (Arnold Vosloo) has escaped, and CTU discovers that he was working for McLennan-Forster, a big defense contractor, under an assumed name. Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) heads to their offices to find out more. When Paul (James Frain) finds out about the connection, he offers to go with Jack, because he installed the defense firm's security software. At the firm, McLennan (Bill Smitrovich) and his underlings Conlon (Tomas Arana) and Reiss (Albie Selznick) pretend to cooperate, while they're secretly working furiously to destroy their incriminating files before Jack and Paul can uncover them. Because of Paul's expertise at retrieving their data, the crooked businessmen decide to take more drastic measures before it's too late. While the company charges an electromagnetic pulse to destroy all their hardware, Jack investigates the electrical disturbance, leaving Paul to print out a critical encoded file before the device goes off. At CTU, Driscoll (Alberta Watson), shaken by her daughter's suicide, is forced to step down from command. Heller (William Devane) appoints Tony (Carlos Bernard) interim director of CTU Los Angeles, but he also asks Division to send in a replacement as soon as possible. ~ Josh Ralske, All Movie Guide

Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) is forced to conduct a brutal interrogation of Paul (James Frain), with Audrey (Kim Raver) looking on. Paul pleads ignorance, explaining that he owns so much property and is involved with so many buildings that he can't keep it all straight. He eventually remembers that a man named "Harris Barnes" bought out the company that owned the building in question, and Jack soon learns that Barnes is the alias of one Habib Marwan (Arnold Vosloo). He heads to Marwan's office. Curtis (Roger R. Cross) has been captured, and is interrogated by a man named Forbes (Richard Marcus), who foolishly leaves his henchman to finish Curtis off. Marwan has taken control of the override himself, and is operating it from an office full of co-workers who have no idea what he's up to. When Jack finds out that Curtis, who took Marianne to the same building, isn't answering his phone, he knows to expect trouble. Tony interrogates Dina (Shohreh Aghdashloo), who eventually admits that all the terror cells reported to Marwan, but never had contact with each other. She also reveals that Marwan is controlling the override himself from the office building. While Driscoll (Alberta Watson) continues to deal with her unruly daughter, Maya (Angela Goethals), CTU teams converge on the office building to find Marwan and the override and stop the meltdowns. ~ Josh Ralske, All Movie Guide

Shortly after being sworn in before the media, Logan (Gregory Itzin) finds out that the nation's nuclear arsenal might be at risk, and goes into panic mode, taking refuge in an underground command center beneath the White House. Marwan's (Arnold Vosloo) dastardly plans are going smoothly, until one of his men, Yosik (Nicholas Guilak), calls to say he absent-mindedly used his credit card to buy gas. Sure enough, Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub) notices the transaction, made in Torrance by one of Marwan's known associates, and Curtis (Roger R. Cross) is dispatched to find Yosik. CTU tracks him to a local marina, where he meets with a man named Joe Prado (John Thaddeus). The two get on a boat, presumably to make their escape, but Yosik spots Curtis' team moving in, and, following Marwan's instructions, prepares to kill Prado, then himself. However, Prado overhears him on the phone and kills Yosik, then surrenders to CTU, claiming that he's an innocent bystander and that Yosik was trying to steal his boat. Prado is taken to CTU for questioning, but when Marwan realizes that he's been captured, he arranges to have David Weiss (Evan Handler of Sex and the City), a lawyer from "Amnesty Global," visit CTU Los Angeles with a court order, to make sure the sleazy mercenary is not tortured. Buchanan (James Morrison) tries to get Logan to sign off on the interrogation, but, warned by his advisor Walt Cummings (John Allen Nelson), the acting president is unwilling to sign off on it without first consulting with the Justice Department. Once again, Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) is forced to take matters into his own hands. ~ Josh Ralske, All Movie Guide

Air Force One has suffered an indirect hit and goes down "hard and fast" over the Nevada desert. While CTU is trying to determine whether or not President Keeler survived, Mike Novick (Jude Ciccolella, last seen in season two) advises Vice President Charles Logan (Gregory Itzin) to prepare to be sworn in as president. Keeler is found alive, but badly wounded. Buchanan (James Morrison), sensing hostility from Tony (Carlos Bernard), tells Tony that, much to his chagrin, his relationship with Michelle (Reiko Aylesworth) has always remained professional. Audrey (Kim Raver) explains that the "nuclear football" went down with the plane, and that Heller wants Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) to retrieve it. They also discuss Paul's unstable medical condition. While Jack flies out to the desert, a young couple on a camping trip, Jason (T.J. Thyne, the infamous Todd from Ghost World) and Kelly (Claudette Mink), find the football, and contact the police, who put them in touch with Jack. Jack tells them to wait for him to arrive, but when Jason notices headlights approaching in the distance, Jack realizes that someone else has the transponder frequency for the football, and has Jason and Kelly disable the transponder and escape to a location where he'll connect with them. Unfortunately, Marwan (Arnold Vosloo) gets there first, putting the couple in grave danger, and the country's entire nuclear arsenal at risk. ~ Josh Ralske, All Movie Guide

The sixth hour of Day 4 begins with an explosive action sequence, and Jack (Kiefer Sutherland), disobeying Driscoll's (Alberta Watson) orders, stages a one-man invasion of the terrorist compound, in a desperate last-ditch effort to rescue Heller (William Devane) and Audrey (Kim Raver). He manages to get Heller out of the compound, but they are soon pinned down and out of ammunition, and then Omar (Tony Plana) tries to escape, using Audrey as his personal human shield. Tariq (Rene Millan) shows up at the Araz home, ostensibly to help Behrooz (Jonathan Ahdout) dispose of Debbie's body, but after they leave the house, Dina (Shohreh Aghdashloo) realizes that Tariq is going to kill Behrooz, and angrily confronts Navi (Nestor Serrano). "Living here has changed him," Navi explains. "He is no longer our son." Back at CTU, Heller learns that his son, Richard (Logan Marshall-Green), has been subject to "noninvasive" torture while in CTU custody. At first, he's outraged, but when he learns that Richard was actually withholding information that might help the investigation, he tells Curtis (Roger R. Cross) to do whatever's necessary to get Richard to talk. As the hour closes, the CTU team learns what was in that mysterious briefcase, and discovers that the kidnapping of Heller and the Internet broadcast were a cover, laying the groundwork for a far more deadly terrorist plot. ~ Josh Ralske, All Movie Guide

Dina (Shohreh Aghdashloo) and Behrooz (Jonathan Ahdout) successfully convince Navi (Nestor Serrano) that the teen has murdered his American girlfriend. But then the girl's mother (Phyllis Lyons) comes looking for her. Back at CTU, Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub) has been busted by Driscoll (Alberta Watson) for secretly helping Jack (Kiefer Sutherland). Driscoll decides not to press charges, but demands Chloe's resignation. On her way out, she tells Edgar (Louis Lombardi), "Good luck today. You're gonna need it." She's right, of course. Marianne (Aisha Tyler) knows that Edgar was secretly helping Chloe, and threatens to tell Driscoll unless Edgar bumps up her security clearance. Driscoll agrees to let Jack run the ground operation, and asks the local cops to back off of Kalil (Anil Kumar), but a couple of patrolmen get the message late, arousing Kalil's suspicion that he's being followed. Once CTU determines the location of the compound where Heller (William Devane) and Audrey (Kim Raver) are being held, President Keeler (Geoff Pierson) authorizes a preemptive laser-guided missile strike to destroy the facility before the terrorists can broadcast Heller's show trial. The marines are on their way, but they won't get to the compound in time, leaving Jack as the only hope for rescuing the two captives. Heller, meanwhile, comes up with his own drastic plan to keep his show trial and execution from going forward. ~ Josh Ralske, All Movie Guide

Season four of the wildly successful "real-time" adventure series 24 begins some 18 months at the end of season three. John Keeler (Geoff Pierson) has succeeded David Palmer (Dennis Haysbert) as president of the United States, and the new secretary of defense is James Heller (William Devane) -- who is also the new boss of crack CTU agent Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland). One of Heller's first moves is to reunite Jack with his old nemesis Erin Driscoll (Alberta Watson), now the head of the CTU. Unbeknownst to most of the principal characters, Jack is in love with Heller's daughter (and policy assistant), Audrey Raines (Kim Raver), this despite the fact that Audrey is still legally married to estranged husband, Paul (James Frain). Outside of Jack Bauer and President Keeler, the only series character from season three to return as a regular in season four is CTU tech analyst Chloe O'Brien (Mary Lynn Rajskub); the rest of the cast is virtually brand-new. The "day" that comprises the fourth season begins, typically, with a nail-biting crisis, when James Heller and his daughter Audrey are captured by a terrorist group headed by Habib Marwan (Arnold Vosloo), who has already set a fiendish master plan in motion with a train bombing in the U.S. It soon develops that the abduction of Heller and Audrey is but a subterfuge to allow an enemy stealth bomber to blow up Air Force One and eliminate the president -- and ultimately to gain control of a nuclear warhead that will destroy a major U.S. city. Making matters worse, there is a turncoat in the ranks of the CTU -- and without giving the game away, it can be noted that CTU agent Sarah Gavin (Lana Parrilla) tumbles to the mole's identity before Jack Bauer does. As the tension mounts, Paul Raines is seriously wounded saving Jack during a covert mission, which "ices" Jack's relationship with Audrey; a shattering personal tragedy forces Erin Driscoll to resign from her post in mid-season; there is dissension in the terrorist ranks during a concerted effort to trigger nuclear meltdowns in six different cities; the seldom-used 25th Amendment is invoked to change presidents in midstream; and an old enemy of Jack's from the series' first two seasons appears virtually out of nowhere to make a terrible situation far worse than could ever be imagined. Clearly, the fourth season of 24 drew inspiration from the headlines of the day, notably the controversial treatment of prisoners at Abu Ghraib. The series also was attacked by certain special-interest groups for making several of the villains Arabs, or of Arab descent. And of course, there were those who carped that the series' notion of "real time" (each episode consisted of a single uninterrupted hour in the same day) resulted in some rather ludicrous lapses of logic. But 24 was as big a hit in the ratings throughout its fourth season as it had been all along. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Tony (Carlos Bernard) is being held hostage by Mandy (Mia Kirshner from seasons one and two). When Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) realizes that Tony has gone missing, he uses all available personnel to seal a perimeter around the apartment complex and begin searching. Mandy, who knows that Tony once committed treason to save Michelle (Reiko Aylesworth), calls Michelle and asks her if she loves Tony enough to do the same for her. Michelle reluctantly agrees to help Mandy escape by redeploying the men in her path. Michelle relents, however, and tells Buchanan (James Morrison) what's going on. He relays the information to Jack, who tells Michelle to proceed as if she's holding up her end of the bargain, in hopes of drawing out Mandy. But the pretty mercenary is more cunning than they give her credit for. Meanwhile, Bern (Robert Cicchini) is abducted by the Chinese while trying to flee the country. Cheng (Tzi Ma) threatens to spirit him away to a remote labor camp if he doesn't reveal who led the operation to kidnap Lee Jong. As the fourth-season finale opens, Mandy (Mia Kirshner) has been offered complete immunity in exchange for revealing Marwan's (Arnold Vosloo) location. While Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) waits for the deal to be signed by Logan (Gregory Itzin) and sent over, Aaron Pierce (Glenn Morshower) reveals that Mandy was involved in an earlier attempt (season two) on Palmer's (Dennis Haysbert) life. But Palmer tells Logan to go ahead and sign her pardon, and she, in turn, reveals the location of her planned rendezvous with Marwan in downtown Los Angeles. While Jack races to capture Marwan alive in order to find and destroy the missile, Logan gets a call from Su Ming (Ping Wu) at the Chinese consulate, who tells him that they know Jack led the assault and kidnapping earlier. The Chinese demand that Jack be turned over to them to face "justice." As the CTU team faces down the nuclear threat, Logan and Cummings (John Allen Nelson) devise a dastardly plan to make sure that Jack doesn't implicate the U.S. government when he's turned over to the Chinese. ~ Josh Ralske, All Movie Guide

Police arrive on the scene to find that Heller (William Devane) and Audrey (Kim Raver) have been taken prisoner by the terrorists, while Richard (Logan Marshall-Green) hides in the house. Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) asks Driscoll (Alberta Watson) to reinstate him, but she wants to detain him for torturing Sherek. Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub) confides in Jack, telling him about Driscoll's mishandling of Andrew's call. She calls Andrew, who tells her that everyone in his office has been murdered, and the terrorists are after him. Unaware that a terrorist, Kalil Hasan (Anil Kumar), has cloned Andrew's cell and is listening in, Jack tells Andrew that he'll come to pick him up at Union Station in 30 minutes. Jack confronts Driscoll about ignoring Andrew's call, and demands to be reinstated, or he won't tell her where they've arranged to meet. Driscoll agrees to reinstate him temporarily, but insists that he work under Ronnie (Shawn Doyle). They head to the station, but Kalil gets there first, and pretends to be Jack in order to lure Andrew away. Meanwhile, at the Araz home, Behrooz (Jonathan Ahdout) is still in contact with his American girlfriend, Debbie (Leighton Meester), despite his parents' demand that he break things off. He goes on a crucial errand for Navi (Nestor Serrano), bringing the mysterious briefcase to the compound where (unbeknownst to Behrooz) Heller and Audrey are being held. Debbie, mistakenly thinking he's involved with another girl, follows him and is spotted by one of the terrorists. Behrooz later tells his father that Debbie didn't see anything incriminating, but Navi insists that he invite Debbie over to their house. As the hour closes, the terrorists blast the entire Internet with video of the captured Secretary of Defense, and explain that he'll be publicly tried for his crimes against humanity. ~ Josh Ralske, All Movie Guide

As the fourth season of 24 begins, terrorists blow up a train, and steal a mysterious briefcase from a passenger onboard. At CTU, Erin Driscoll (Alberta Watson) is running things, and she has fired Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) over his heroin addiction. Jack is now working for Secretary of Defense James Heller (William Devane) and is romantically involved with Heller's daughter and aide, Audrey (Kim Raver). Jack wants to tell Heller about their relationship, but Audrey is hesitant because she is still legally married to her estranged husband. Word reaches CTU of the train bombing, and Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub) notices that one Tomas Sherek (Faran Tahir), on their terrorist watch list, was recently spotted in L.A. Andrew Paige (Lukas Haas), a hacker, discovers some nodes indicating that someone is plotting a massive corruption of the Internet. He calls his old classmate, Chloe, who sees a possible connection to the terrorist attack, but Driscoll insists that Chloe focus on the bombing and on finding Sherek, ordering Chloe to pass Andrew's concerns along to the FBI. Andrew returns to his office to find that his discovery has not gone unnoticed, and his life is in danger. Jack arrives at CTU on budgetary business in time to help his replacement in the field, Ronnie Lobell (Shawn Doyle), apprehend Sherek. Jack realizes that a terrorist of Sherek's stature would not risk exposure over the bombing. Meanwhile, Audrey accompanies Heller as he visits his rebellious son, Richard (Logan Marshall-Green), and they argue over Richard's plans to denounce his father at an upcoming protest. A suburban couple, Navi (Nestor Serrano) and Dina Araz (Shohreh Aghdashloo), and their teenage son, Behrooz (Jonathan Ahdout), have a connection to the terrorist plot. Sherry (Penny Johnson Jerald) finds Kevin Kelly (Jack Kehler), whose daughter was killed by Alan (Albert Hall) in a hit-and-run accident. Kelly witnessed the crime, but was pressured by the police and bribed by Alan to keep quiet. Palmer (Dennis Haysbert) isn't certain whether or not to use the information, but it all becomes moot when Kelly vanishes. Sherry understandably suspects foul play, and calls on Julia (Gina Torres) to help her prove that Alan was behind the disappearance. The sting operation is reaching its climax, but that doesn't stop Kim (Elisha Cuthbert) from going to Tony (Carlos Bernard) with her suspicion that Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub) is lying about the provenance of the baby she's brought to work. Tony essentially tells Kim to shut up and watch the baby, because they need to keep Chloe in place. Down in Mexico, Ramon (Joaquim de Almeida) finishes off his brother. Nina (Sarah Clarke) reiterates her belief that Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) is still working for CTU, but Ramon isn't listening. He warns her that his snipers will be trained on her as she completes the deal with Amador (Greg Ellis). Chase (James Badge Dale) is also watching, and waiting to signal the CTU team to move in. After Nina confirms the presence of the virus, and wires the money into Amador's account, Ramon decides to kill Jack, and Chase is forced to intercede. As the third-season finale of 24 begins, the subway station has been shut down, and agents are searching and photographing all the male passengers who fit the profile of the terrorist. At one point, Chase (James Badge Dale) tells Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) that he's decided to transfer out of field work in order to salvage his relationship with Kim (Elisha Cuthbert), rather than develop the kind of emotional detachment that Jack says is a requirement of the job. While Tony (Carlos Bernard) is trying to defend his efforts to save Michelle's (Reiko Aylesworth) life, Michelle has a tender moment with him, and convinces Hammond (Randle Mell) to let him run tactical on the operation to catch the terrorist carrying the last vial of the virus. Gael's widow, Theresa (Kamala Lopez-Dawson), is arriving at CTU to claim his belongings, while Saunders (Paul Blackthorne) is brought in to study the photos being transmitted from the subway station. Unfortunately, the grieving Theresa sees him, realizes who he is, and shoots him before he can identify Arthur Rabens (Salvator Xuereb). Rabens manages to escape from the station, leading Jack and Chase on a high-speed pursuit, which ends when Rabens abandons his car and runs into a middle school. Brad Hammond (Randle Mell) arrives at CTU, and takes Tony (Carlos Bernard) into custody, charging him with treason. Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) has Saunders (Paul Blackthorne) in custody. Saunders tells him that the 11 other vials of the virus "are in the hands of true believers." He offers to call them off, if Palmer (Dennis Haysbert) will let him escape to North Africa. Jack has a different idea. He asks Jane Saunders (Alexandra Lydon) to try to convince her father to call off the attack. When her impassioned pleas fail to reach him, Jack brings Saunders to the Chandler Plaza Hotel, and threatens to send Jane inside, so she'll be infected with the virus. When Saunders sees that Jack's serious, he relents. He's taken back to CTU, where he helps them begin tracking down the vials, using GPS locator chips he's planted on each one. All the vials are accounted for except for the one in Los Angeles. When CTU finally gets a location on that vial, they realize that the terrorist who has it is on the subway. Palmer invites Sherry (Penny Johnson Jerald) to meet with him to discuss her blackmail scheme. In exchange for turning over the evidence of her involvement in Milliken's murder, she demands a prominent role in the president's administration...and in his life. Palmer is really just trying to keep Sherry busy while Wayne (D.B. Woodside) and Foxton (Mark Rolston) break into her house to look for the incriminating prescription bottle. Their efforts are slowed by, among other things, a desperate call to Wayne from Julia Milliken (Gina Torres), who seems on the edge of a breakdown, fearing she'll go to jail for Alan's murder. ~ Josh Ralske, All Movie Guide

Palmer (Dennis Haysbert) decides he will not give in to Saunders' (Paul Blackthorne) latest demand, to release the names of all of America's foreign operatives. He also refuses to leave L.A., despite Aaron's (Glenn Morshower) plea. Two new symptomatic cases of the virus have turned up in the city. Tony (Carlos Bernard) gets a call from Michelle (Reiko Aylesworth). They both break down when she tells him that her test results are back and she doesn't have the virus. She's being taken to a quarantine area for further observation. Having failed to keep Jane's (Alexandra Lydon) abduction a secret, Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) resumes questioning her. He plays her a tape of her father making threats, and shows her horrifying video from the Chandler Plaza Hotel. She finally admits that she has an emergency phone number, and agrees to call her father. When she does, Saunders quickly realizes that the call is being monitored, and tells Jane to put Jack on the phone. He warns Jack to release Jane unharmed, reminding Jack what he's capable of. Jack responds coolly, "You know what I'm capable of, too." The call enables CTU to close in on Saunders' location, and a team is sent there. Kim (Elisha Cuthbert) is assigned to escort Jane back to CTU headquarters. Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub) is horrified to discover Adam's (Zachary Quinto) sister on the list of infected people. As CTU closes in on Saunders, he seems remarkably unconcerned. Jack is outside with a bullhorn, reminding him that Palmer will no longer give in to his demands, and that CTU has Jane in custody. Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) has been forced to kill Chappelle (Paul Schulze). Back at CTU, it's determined that Saunders (Paul Blackthorne) has a 19-year-old daughter to whom he's been sending money. She's a student at UC Santa Barbara. Knowing that Saunders probably has surveillance on her, Jack tells Tony (Carlos Bernard) that they'll have to do a "plain sight swap," replacing the girl with a double so Saunders won't know she's missing. The closest match they can come up with for Jane Saunders (Alexandra Lydon) is, sadly, Kim (Elisha Cuthbert). Tony gives Kim the assignment, despite Chloe's (Mary Lynn Rajskub) reservations. But when Jack gets back to CTU and finds out about it, he goes ballistic. Kim manages to convince him that it's her duty. Jack gives her a gun, just in case. They take a chopper to UCSB, where the switch is made in the ladies' room of the library where Jane works. Kim isn't enough of a physical match to fool anyone who gets too close, and that's just what happens, forcing Kim to use that gun. Palmer (Dennis Haysbert) meets with his Cabinet and tells them what's happened with the hotel, and informs them that he's had a CTU agent murdered to meet the terrorist's demand. Meanwhile, Chase (James Badge Dale) goes to interrogate Susan Cole (Jenni Blong), the wife of the man who left the Chandler Plaza Hotel, and that man, William Cole (Patrick Fabian), goes to a pharmacy and then an emergency room, complaining of a nosebleed that just won't stop. ~ Josh Ralske, All Movie Guide

He's hired his brother, Wayne (D.B. Woodside), as his chief of staff, and he has a clandestine romantic relationship with his personal physician, Dr. Anne Packard (Wendy Crewson). Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) has spent a year undercover, getting close to and then arresting Ramon Salazar (Joaquim de Almeida), a Colombian drug lord. Kim (Elisha Cuthbert) is now a technician at CTU, and is secretly having an affair with Chase (James Badge Dale), a young agent who is working with Jack. Tony (Carlos Bernard) and Michelle (Reiko Aylesworth) are involved, and Michelle is hoping to find a job at Langley when Tony moves to his new position there. It turns out that Ronnie is a survivalist, with a bomb shelter full of weapons, explosives, and gourmet coffee. Kim is prepared to leave, but is frightened into staying when a park ranger comes by looking for her. Ronnie then convinces her that he's heard there's been a nuclear explosion in L.A. over his short-wave radio. They retire to the bomb shelter. Stanton (Harris Yulin) tells Palmer (Dennis Haysbert) that his people have known about the nuke for a long time. They allowed it into the country and their paramilitary team has been tracking it with plans to intercede at the last minute, all in an effort to change Palmer's foreign policy. Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) tells Kate (Sarah Wynter) why he's taking her from CTU, and asks if she's willing to accept the risk to help him prevent a war. Then Jack realizes that Yusuf (Donnie Keshawarz) is following them. He's figured out what's going on, and he offers to help Jack find the evidence. Carrie (Lourdes Benedicto) tells Tony (Carlos Bernard) that Michelle (Reiko Aylesworth) helped Jack get Kate out. Tony confronts Michelle and she denies it. Tony tells Carrie to track all of Michelle's calls and emails. Jack leaves Kate in the car while he goes to meet with Wallace (Gregg Henry), who turns out to be the seventh man from the commando team at the airport, who killed his own comrades. Wallace tells Jack that the people who hired him are now trying to kill him. He'll give Jack the evidence that the recording of Ali was phony, if Kate uses her father's Department of Defense privileges to charter a flight and get him out of the country. Unfortunately, Kate will have to go with him, and Wallace lets Jack know he'll kill her once they reach their destination. Wallace secretly signals his outside man to grab Kate, but Yusuf stops him. Jack forces Wallace to play it his way, but soon, the whole group is under attack. Lynne (Michelle Forbes) and Mike (Jude Ciccolella) both believe that Palmer (Dennis Haysbert) is putting too much faith in the instincts of a single agent. ~ Josh Ralske, All Movie Guide

Omar (Marc Casabani) is willing to talk, and Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) has to find out where the real bomb is. Omar admits that he's working for Syed Ali (Francesco Quinn), but he doesn't know about the second bomb. While Jack interrogates him, Kate (Sarah Wynter) sees Marie (Laura Harris), in disguise, trying to leave the airport. Kate tells a security guard to alert Jack, and goes after her sister. Marie gets the jump on Kate, holds her at gunpoint and demands her ID badge. Kate refuses, and Marie seems like she's about to shoot Kate before Jack shows up, in the nick of time, and shoots her in the arm. Jack uses force to interrogate Marie about the location of the bomb. Kate tries to reason with her, to no avail. Marie finally lies to them in an effort to send them on a wild goose chase, but Jack sees through it, and realizes the second bomb is at the airport. Palmer (Dennis Haysbert) accuses Sherry (Penny Johnson Jerald) of collaborating with Stanton. Sherry claims she was just trying to earn Stanton's trust so that she could find out what he was planning. She has a CIA man corroborate her story, but Palmer still doesn't trust her, and commands her to leave. Kim (Elisha Cuthbert) realizes that Lonnie (Kevin Dillon) lied to her about the explosion, and tries to escape the bomb shelter. Carrie Turner (Lourdes Benedicto) shows up at CTU to replace Paula. She clearly has some kind of unpleasant history with Michelle (Reiko Aylesworth). Mason (Xander Berkeley) is too sick to continue working. He officially hands the reigns over to Tony (Carlos Bernard) and walks out. ~ Josh Ralske, All Movie Guide
