Carmen Electra Movies
Perhaps more famous for her physical attributes than for her talent,
Carmen Electra managed to parlay a stint as an MTV game show hostess into a career as a TV and movie actress. Born Tara Leigh Patrick and raised in Ohio,
Electra left her performing arts high school with plans to become a singer. After a failed album for
Prince's Paisley Park label in the early '90s, however,
Electra shifted direction. Along with her first Playboy spread, the aspiring entertainer scored her career breakthrough when she replaced Jenny McCarthy as the co-host of MTV's highly-rated dating game Singled Out in 1996. After the show went off the air,
Electra successfully stepped in for another buxom TV blonde when she took over lifeguarding duties from
Pamela Anderson on the syndicated hit
Baywatch from 1997 to 1998.
Elektra moved to features with a bit part in the comedy Good Burger (1997) and larger roles in indie movies
Starf*cker (1998), The Chosen One: The Legend of the Raven (1998), and
Starstruck (1999). It was
Electra's infamous several-day marriage to flamboyant basketball star
Dennis Rodman in 1998, though, that further augmented her celebrity. Keeping her assets and tabloid fame in humorous perspective,
Electra followed her role as what else, The Female, in the mockumentary The Mating Habits of Earthbound Humans (1999) with a self-parodic turn as the bodacious first victim in the hit horror send-up
Scary Movie (2000).
While Elektra failed to land any big successes in the ensuing handful of years, 2004 saw her emerge again, gaining notice on both the large and small screens. In the wake of such hit shows as The Osbournes, The Anna Nicole Show, and, most notably, Newlyweds, Elektra and husband-to-be Dave Navarro agreed to let an MTV camera crew record their lives for the reality show Til Death Do Us Part. Meanwhile, she also showed up to steal a few scenes in the tongue-in-cheek feature-film version of Starsky and Hutch. She appeared on Scary Movie 4 in 2006, and took on roles for a variety of unremarkable comedies throughout the late 2000s and early 2010s. Elektra has also worked as a fitness instructor in a series of aerobic striptease workout programs. ~ Lucia Bozzola, Rovi

Monk (Tony Shalhoub) takes on his most unusual client when a chimpanzee named Darwin (played by Mowgli of The Dennis Miller Show fame) is accused of killing record producer Ian Blackburn (Stewart McLennan), who was hiding in his supposedly impenetrable "panic room" at the time of his death. Despite his mortal fear of the overaffectionate and highly unsanitary Darwin, Monk quickly sets about following the trail of clues, which lead to Blackburn's far-from-faithful widow Chloe (Carmen Electra) and the dead man's security expect Kurt Wolff (Brad Hawkins). Meanwhile, Sharona (Bitty Schram) pulls off a daring midnight rescue of Darwin on the night of his scheduled "execution"--and installs the chimp in Monk's spotless, germ-free apartment (well, it WAS spotless and germ-free, anyway...) ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Fans of the old Baywatch TV series take heart. Despite all evidence to the contrary, legendary lifeguard Mitch Buchannon (David Hasselhoff) was not killed in that explosion during the series' final season. Instead, he has been suffering from amnesia for the past three years, and has now re-emerged from the shadows with a stunning new fiancée in tow. The lovely Allison bears an astonishing resemblance to Mitch's long-dead sweetheart, policewoman Stephanie Holden -- as well she may, since Allison is also played by the series' Alexandra Paul. Virtually all of the old Baywatch regulars gather together for the lavish wedding of Mitch and Shannon in Hawaii, little suspecting that Allison is actually in league with an old enemy of Mitch's who has set his cold, black heart on a horrible revenge. Is there anyone in the wedding party who will step up and rescue Mitch from certain doom? Perhaps his ex-wife Neely Capshaw (Gena Lee Nolin), or the still beautiful, incredibly pneumatic Casey Jean Parker (who else but Pamela Anderson)? The sort of TV-movie fare for which sweeps weeks were invented, Baywatch Hawaiian Wedding made its Fox network debut February 28, 2003. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

As a number of luminaries on the international fashion scene converge for a major show, their personal and professional crises come to a head in this comedy-drama. Lorenzo Mancini (Paul Sorvino) is an internationally famous designer who has learned he has only a short time to live. As Mancini tries to make his peace with both his ex-wife (Sonia Braga) and his long-time companion (Peter Gallagher), he also tries to mend fences with his son (and heir) Mario (Michael Sorvino) while persuading him to not merge the family business with the hip-hop fashion empire of J.B. (Omar Epps. Anthony (Jared Harris), a famous and influential fashion photographer, is having a career crisis as his marriage to Francene (Michelle Forbes) begins to collapse. Cutting-edge designer Roberta (Rita Wilson) is scrambling to complete her latest line as her underlings start leaving her one by one. Camille (Leslie Mann), Roberta's business partner, may be the next to hit the road, as she becomes involved with Jamie (Jeff Goldblum), who works for a firm run by arch-rival designer Phillip (Harris Yulin). And Janice (Joanne Baron), the editor of a leading fashion journal, is facing a deadline when she gets an unexpected visitor -- her daughter Halley (Michelle Williams), whom she hasn't seen in over a decade. Taking an unusual approach, director Michael Rymer and screenwriter L.M. Kit Carson wrote a detailed outline for Perfume and in-depth background sketches for all the characters, but allowed the cast to improvise all the dialogue used in the film. Perfume had its world premiere at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

First seen November 8, 2000 on ABC, this episode represents the second time that The Drew Carey Show was originally telecast live, with three different versions seen in the three main time zones (the syndicated version is the Pacific Zone broadcast--with all bloopers and ad-libs intact). The plot gets under way as Mr. Wick (Craig Ferguson) fires an employee who objects to the shoddy treatment afforded Drew (Drew Carey). Feeling responsible for the man's plight, Drew gets him a new job--and before long, our hero has established a successful employement agency in his own home. Unfortunately, he is less successful finding new jobs for his old friends Oswald (Diedrich Bader) and Lewis (Ryan Styles), especially when both of them compete for a single opening at a ritzy restaurant. As in the previous "live" episode, several regulars from the Drew Carey-hosted series Whose Line Is It Anyway? show up to perform some truly weird improvisational sketches. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

After parodying the blaxploitation films of the 1970s in I'm Gonna Git You Sucka, Keenen Ivory Wayans takes aim at slasher films of the 1980s and 1990s in this raunchy satire, which was produced under the clumsy but inarguably appropriate title Scream If You Know What I Did Last Halloween. As you might expect, a group of teenagers -- not-terribly-bright Buffy (Shannon Elizabeth), her best friend Brenda (Regina Hall), stoner Shorty (Marlon Wayans), fey football player Ray (Shawn Wayans), loudmouthed Greg (Lochlyn Munro), sexually overexcited Bobby (Jon Abrahams), and his prim girlfriend Cindy (Anna Faris) -- are on the run from a maniacal killer who is looking for revenge after the kids accidentally kill a man following an auto accident. They also find themselves having to contend with intrusive reporter Gail Hailstorm (Cheri Oteri) and eccentric high school principal Squiggly (David L. Lander). Incidentally, the title Scary Movie is something of an inside joke: it was the working title for Scream, the movie that kick-started the mid-'90s slasher film revival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
