Carmen Electra Movies
Perhaps more famous for her physical attributes than for her talent, Carmen Electra managed to parlay a stint as an MTV game show hostess into a career as a TV and movie actress. Born Tara Leigh Patrick and raised in Ohio, Electra left her performing arts high school with plans to become a singer. After a failed album for Prince's Paisley Park label in the early '90s, however, Electra shifted direction. Along with her first Playboy spread, the aspiring entertainer scored her career breakthrough when she replaced Jenny McCarthy as the co-host of MTV's highly-rated dating game Singled Out in 1996. After the show went off the air, Electra successfully stepped in for another buxom TV blonde when she took over lifeguarding duties from Pamela Anderson on the syndicated hit Baywatch from 1997 to 1998.Elektra moved to features with a bit part in the comedy Good Burger (1997) and larger roles in indie movies Starf*cker (1998), The Chosen One: The Legend of the Raven (1998), and Starstruck (1999). It was Electra's infamous several-day marriage to flamboyant basketball star Dennis Rodman in 1998, though, that further augmented her celebrity. Keeping her assets and tabloid fame in humorous perspective, Electra followed her role as what else, The Female, in the mockumentary The Mating Habits of Earthbound Humans (1999) with a self-parodic turn as the bodacious first victim in the hit horror send-up Scary Movie (2000).
While Elektra failed to land any big successes in the ensuing handful of years, 2004 saw her emerge again, gaining notice on both the large and small screens. In the wake of such hit shows as The Osbournes, The Anna Nicole Show, and, most notably, Newlyweds, Elektra and husband-to-be Dave Navarro agreed to let an MTV camera crew record their lives for the reality show Til Death Do Us Part. Meanwhile, she also showed up to steal a few scenes in the tongue-in-cheek feature-film version of Starsky and Hutch. She appeared on Scary Movie 4 in 2006, and took on roles for a variety of unremarkable comedies throughout the late 2000s and early 2010s. A Long Island couple struggles to accept the fact that their son is gay after he comes out of the closet at his cousin's wedding. Every Friday, Shirley Hirsch (Lainie Kazan) invites over a pretty Jewish girl for Shabbat dinner. Her son, Nelson (John Lloyd Young), is single, and she's determined to help him find the perfect mate. When Nelson reveals that he's already involved in a relationship, his mother drops by his apartment in hopes of meeting the lucky girl. Once there, she meets Angelo (Jai Rodriguez), who introduces himself as Nelson's decorator, and assumes that their pretty neighbor Sybil (Carmen Electra) is her son's significant other. Later, at his cousin's wedding, Nelson reveals the truth about his sexuality, prompting a heated feud between his parents. When every attempt to understand their son's lifestyle ends in failure, Nelson's parents decide to have dinner with Angelo's parents, and discover the power of compassion. Tom Riley, Tom Burke, Carmen Electra and Michelle Ryan co-star in British director Stephen Surjik's smutty sex comedy I Want Candy. The picture concerns two film students Baggy (Burke) and Joe (Riley), enrolled at a university in Leatherhead, England. The pair just recently completed a script that they plan to shoot for their graduation thesis, and want to use it to break into the British movie industry. Alas, their professor informs them of a two-minute imposition on the length of the thesis film. Discouraged, Joe and Baggy head off on a trip to London, where they attempt to solicit the interest of producers in the script - but they only succeed in catching the eye of a porn mogul, Doug Perry (Eddie Marsam) who agrees to finance the project if and only if they will turn it into a porno feature and talk ingénue Candy Fiveways (Electra) into starring. Scary Movie screenwriters Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer join forces to parody the "biggest" movies ever to hit the silver screen in this comedy that gives such popular box-office hits as Pirates of the Caribbean and Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe the same treatment that Scary Movie gave to the slasher subgenre. A virtual smorgasbord of spoof, Epic Movie tells the tale of four fully grown orphans: one the victim of snakes that attacked her plane, another raised by a kindly Louvre curator, the third a Mexican "libre" wrestling refuge, and the last an average mutant from an "X"-community. When the curious quartet visits a sprawling chocolate factory, they stumble across a magical wardrobe which transports them to the enchanted land of Gnarnia. The glorious Hollywood institution of the romantic comedy gets raked over the coals in this broad parody of any number of boy-meets-girl flicks. However, Julia has a rather serious weight problem that prevents her from making a positive impression on people. Determined to find love at all costs, Julia somehow drops the weight and meets Grant Fonckyerdoder (Adam Campbell), a handsome and charming Englishman who falls head over heels for her. Julia and Grant waste no time in setting the date, but until they make their way to the altar they have to deal with meddling parents, flaky wedding planners, fights over the right wedding dress, vertically challenged romantic advisors, and Andy (Sophie Monk), a longtime friend of Grant, who isn't so happy to hear he's getting hitched. Spoof series torch-bearer and Airplane! mastermind David Zucker steps back into the captain's chair for yet another round of cinematic shenanigans in the latest installment of the Scary Movie franchise, this time mocking such frightful blockbusters as Saw, War of the Worlds, The Village, and The Grudge. An alien invasion threatens to wipe out the entire human race, but not if Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris) and her nymphomaniac pal, Brenda Meeks (Regina Hall), have any say in the matter. With the clock counting down for all of humankind and the extraterrestrial invasion about to begin, the fearless but slightly dunderheaded heroines are joined by a series of celebrity guests including Dr. Phil, Carmen Electra, Chris Elliott, Shaquille O'Neal, and, of course, Leslie Nielsen in ensuring that the planet remains free of the alien menace and prepared for yet another installment in the over-the-top, pop-culture-deflating satire series. A young man chasing his destiny finds there are plenty of things following him in this independent comedy drama. Harlan (Randy Spelling) is a musician who dreams of playing salsa music for a living; however, Latin music isn't a big thing in the small Wyoming town he's always called home, so he packs up his belongings and hits the highway for bright lights of Los Angeles, where his friend Caesar (Matt Cedeno) has promised him a spot on his couch and an audition with a band. Harlan stops for a bite to eat along the way and meets a guy named Jude (Jason Priestley), who unknown to Harlan has slipped a bag of purloined jewels in his car. Upon arrival in L.A., Harlan aces his audition with the band, but the mysterious disappearance of Caesar alarms both Harlan and Caesar's attractive lady friend Tuesday (Diora Baird). As it happens, a handful of gangsters led by the sexy but dangerous Riley (Carmen Electra) have learned that Jude's valuables are in Harlan's car, and they'll stop at nothing to get them back, including kidnapping Tuesday. Sela Ward makes her first appearance as Stacy Warner, former lawyer for the Princeton-Plainsboro clinic--and ex-girlfriend of Dr. House (Hugh Laurie). Stacy's husband has fallen mysteriously ill, and she hopes that House can find out why. But House seems more preoccupied with delivering a lecture to three medical-school diagnostics--an assignment he was forced to accept, but one which he tackles with his usual mean-spirited gusto. As he presents the trio with a hypothetic medical dilemma involving three patients with aching legs, we are treated to a succession of bizarre fantasy sequences. Season two of the brutally satirical CGI sci-fi series Tripping the Rift follows the same pattern as Season One, with one major change: Carmen Electra replaces Gina Gershon in the role of Six of One, the oversexed second-in command of Jupiter 42 skipper Chode. In the season opener, Chode's pimply nephew Whip takes charge of his uncle's starship, ultimately ending up a celebrity on the planet Kraven. Later, Chode tries to unload an unwanted cargo on the all-gay Fabulous Planet; deadly-but-dumb space villain Darph Bobo takes a horrible revenge when Chode steals his credit card; the Jupiter 42 crew confronts their innermost fears and some substandard animation on a ghost ship; and Chode's Grandpa Benito wants to get even with Darph for a past slight, hiring Joey No-Balls for that purpose. Also: the mystery of Roswell New Mexico is finally solved when Chode passes through a time warp while escaping the victims of his latest scam; Darph Bobo tries to be "cool" at his high school reunion (villains need reassurance sometimes). The jumbo-sized Baker family are back in this sequel to the 2003 box-office hit Cheaper by the Dozen. College football coach Tom Baker (Steve Martin) and his wife, author Kate Baker (Bonnie Hunt), have decided its time they took their sizable brood of 12 children on a summer vacation, and so they pack up the cars and take the kids to Lake Winnetka for some camping. Not all the kids are happy about this, but the one who is really annoyed turns out to be Tom, who discovers his old rival Jimmy Murtaugh (Eugene Levy) is also staying near the lake. Jimmy and his trophy wife, Sarina (Carmen Electra), also have a large family of eight children, and Jimmy and Tom seem intent upon one-upping each other at every opportunity. As the tensions mount, the Baker family and the Murtaugh clan face off in a not-so-good-natured series of family games to determine which of the parents have the greater bragging rights. Starring Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson in the title roles, this kitschy tongue-in cheek action comedy is based on the popular 1970s cop show of the same name. Ken "Hutch" Hutchinson (Wilson) and Dave Starsky (Stiller) are a tough pair of plain-clothes cops who drive a red and white Ford Torino and solve cases with the assistance of their informant, Huggy Bear (Snoop Dogg). While investigating their latest case, the duo realize that the culprit is none other than Reese Feldman (Vince Vaughn), the criminal involved in their first bust.
