Based on Helen Fielding's hugely popular novel, this romantic comedy follows Bridget (Renee Zellweger), a post-feminist, thirty-something British woman who has a penchant for alcoholic binges, smoking, and an inability to control her weight. While trying to keep these things in check and also deal with her job in publishing, she visits her parents for a Christmas party. They try to set her up with Mark (Colin Firth), the visiting son of one of their neighbors. Snubbed by Mark, she instead falls for her boss Daniel (Hugh Grant), a dashing lothario who begins to send her suggestive e-mails that soon lead to a dinner date proposition. Daniel reveals that he and Mark attended college together, during which time Mark had an affair with his fiancée. When Bridget finds Daniel cavorting with an American colleague, she decides to change her life with a new job as a TV presenter. At a dinner party, she bumps into Mark again, who expresses his affection for her; when Daniel claims he wants Bridget back, the two fight over who deserves her affections the most. Christopher Guest (Waiting for Guffman) directed this comedy about two hapless explorers -- hard-drinking trapper Bartholomew Hunt (the late Chris Farley in his last major role) and foppish Leslie Edwards (Matthew Perry) -- who lead an ill-fated 1804 expedition through the Pacific Northwest in a hopeless, doomed effort to reach the Pacific Ocean before Lewis and Clark. An ornery alley cat sets in motion a chilling series of supernatural events in this horror film. The terror begins as a newlywed couple moves into a gloomy old Los Angeles apartment. They are not there long before the ominous kitty shows up. For some reason she utterly despises the bride, Alex, and slyly manages to trip her on the stairs, effectively sending Alex to the hospital and leaving her husband Tom alone in the apartment. Once the wife is safely away, a strange seductive woman, Lillith, visits Tom, telling him that she has come to gather up the remaining belongings of the former tenant, her recently deceased brother. Lillith has a peculiar feline grace as she slinks into the apartment and accepts Tom's offer for a cup of coffee to which she adds a prodigious amount of milk. Soon, she successfully seduces poor Tom and nearly wears him out with her violent, insatiable demands for continuous sex. Eventually, Tom becomes so exhausted that he begins having terrifying Satanic hallucinations and finds himself facing the Devil himself.
