In this freewheeling spoof of the old radio and television series You Are There, modern-day tabloid reporter Nevil (Michael Hurst) literally goes to Hell and back to get the lowdown on Xena's (Lucy Lawless) latest mission. The muckraking Nevil is somehow convinced that Xena's efforts to get the golden apples of Valhalla, which when eaten bestow instant immortality, is merely a ploy to increase her own powers. Meanwhile, a pair of scaly villainesses who closely resemble Gabrielle's earthly nemeses Aphrodite and Discord hatch a plot against her. Taking one of Xena's offhand comments a bit too literally, Aphrodite (Alexandra Tydings) "helpfully" traps Xena (Lucy Lawless) into the body of Daphne (Rose McIver), a little girl on the verge of death. Once she has assumed Daphne's form, Xena struggles to restore the child's will to live, which she lost after the death of her mother. In this light-hearted episode, runaway Princess Alecia (Olivia Tennet) refuses to return home to her father and stepmother. Since Alecia's stubbornness may have disastrous consequences, it is up to Xena (Lucy Lawless), Gabrielle (Renee O'Connor), and Joxer (Ted Raimi) to win the little girl over by telling her fairy tales. Unexpectedly, the Princess falls in love with the klutzy Joxer, who, thanks to an inter-celestial tiff between Aphrodite (Alexandra Tydings) and Cupid (Karl Urban), has suddenly been transformed into a dashing hero. Throwing rocks instead of lightning bolts, the mad King Augeus (Grant Bridger) believes himself to be Zeus. Jealous of the beautiful mortal Psyche (Susan Ward), goddess of love Aphrodite (Alexandra Tydings) orders her son Cupid (Karl Urban) to shoot Psyche with "love arrows" so that the girl will remove herself from romantic competition. What Aphrodite doesn't know is that Cupid is in love with Psyche himself, which is why he misfires his arrows and hits Hercules (Kevin Sorbo) instead.
