A Las Vegas photographer is murdered and his befouled corpse is dumped at a rural "body farm," the location where the CSI team normally studies cadavers of crime victims. Grissom (William L. Petersen) investigates, and as is customary, he finds more than first meets the eye. This time, however, Grissom is working at a disadvantage: several members of his own staff have lodged complaints about his job performance. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Boys will be boys, and that's not always a good thing, as this dark drama with comic overtones reveals. Matt (Keith Carradine) and Harley (David Keith) were best friends in high school, but since then their lives have followed a very different course. Matt drifts from job to job, swilling beer and making trouble wherever he lands, while Harley is a building designer with a nice home and an attractive wife, Fox (Janet Gunn), who wants to have a baby, though Harley isn't so certain he wants to be a parent. One day, Matt walks off his job at an Alaskan oilfield and heads to California, appearing on Harley's doorstep; Harley has neither the heart nor the desire to turn Matt away, and soon Matt is giving Harley a new taste of the bachelor lifestyle as they head out drinking, carousing, and chasing women from dusk till dawn. But Fox soon becomes wary of the way Matt is bringing out the less wholesome side of Harley's personality, while Harley notices Matt's behavior is advancing past good-natured rowdiness into something more sinister. Matt's fondness for fast sex with prostitutes and his sudden friendship with a gangster (Jan Triska) leads Matt down a dangerous road that proves to have disastrous consequences for the two friends. Cahoots was the first feature film for writer and director Dirk Benedict, who is best known for his career as a television actor, having starred in the TV series Battlestar Galactica and The A-Team. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

The eighth and final season of the slick and sophisticated cop drama Silk Stalkings finds undercover detectives (and former husband and wife) Tom Ryan (Chris Potter) and Cassy St. John (Janet Gunn) continuing to solve perplexing crimes on behalf of their superior officer, Captain Harry Lipschitz (Charlie Brill), at a Palm Beach, FL police department. Highlights this season include the episode "Forever," a virtual replay of the series' third season finale, with Cassy relentlessly hunting down the lowlife who shot and nearly killed Tom (In a novel twist, Tom assists in the investigation, albeit as a part of an "out of body" experience!); and "A Clockwork Florida Orange," a perverse spin on Stanley Kubrick's already perverse 1971 film of (almost) the same name. The series ends with the tense and curiously downbeat two-parter "Noir," in which Tom is framed for murder by his duplicitious fiancée; Cassy is suspended; and Lipschitz is forced to resign. The climax occurs at an island casino, with several plot strands deliberately left dangling...but with the promise of even more intrigue (sexual and otherwise) in the near future! ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Evidently, the chemistry between Silk Stalkings' new stars Chris Potter (as Det. Sgt. Tom Ryan) and Janet Gunn (as Det. Sgt. Cassandra "Cassy" St. John) registered quite well with fans during their first appearances in the series' sixth season. Thus, as season seven roles around, Tom Ryan and Cassy St. John continue to go undercover to solve "crimes of passion" amongst the wealthy elite of Palm Beach, FL, under the aegis of their dyspeptic superior officer, Captain Harry Lipschitz (Charlie Brill). The fact that Tom and Cassy used to be husband and wife serves to add a layer of sizzling sexual tension to the proceedings. Plus, both detectives periodically undergo personal crises involving their individual pasts, which can be charitably described as "checkered." Some interesting guest stars appear during this season's allotment of episodes, among them Morgan Brittany, Adam Carl, and Star Trek: The Next Generation's Michael Dorn (the latter is cast as a lawyer with whom Cassy has a brief fling). Season seven ends with the by now traditional cliffhanger, with Cassy being framed for murder...by a pscyhopathic computer! ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

As Silk Stalkings enters its sixth season, undercover cops Michael Price and Holly Rawlins, a team created in season five by Palm Beach, FL police captain Lipschitz (Charlie Brill) as replacements for detectives Chris Lorenzo (deceased) and Rita Lance (retired), are nowhere to be found -- and in fact their disappearances are never completely explained. Now handling the assignments formerly allotted to the Price-Rawlins and Lorenzo-Lance teams are detective sergeants Tom Ryan (Chris Potter) and Cassandra "Cassy" St. John (Janet Gunn). Lipschitz had previously teamed Tom and Cassy to solve crimes of passion amongst the wealthy elite of Palm Beach, and had been pleased with the results. But there's a catch: Tom and Cassy are not only former partners, but former husband and wife. The sexual tension between the two cops is so palpable as to be overwhelming in several of the season six episodes, even though both Tom and Cassy struggle valiantly to get over one another by dating other people. Tension of another sort arises in the form of D.A. Alexander (Kent McCord), a "rules are rules" type for whom Cassy has nothing but contempt -- and for good reason. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

The third and final season of Dark Justice finds ex-cop Nick Marshall (Bruce Abbott) continuing to lead his double life as a respected judge by day, and a leather-jacket vigilante by night. Using an admirably variety of stings and scams, Marshall and his team of "Night Watchmen"--Moon (Dick O'Neill), Gibs (Clayton Prince), Kelly (Janet Gunn) and sometimes Kari-Lynn (Joanne Haas)--succeed in tracking down and trapping criminals who have otherwise escaped prosecution via legal technicalities and loopholes. Added to the cast this season is sexy Samantha "Sam" Collins (Elisa Heinsohn), replacing Tara McDonald (who departed the show in Season Two to relocate to Boston) as Mitchell's super-efficient secretary and researcher. In addition to offering the series' first two-part episode, "In Cover of Darkness", the series also follows traditional lines by pitting the Night Watchmen against such adversaries as a crooked doctor, a homicidal novelist, and a game-playing serial killer. Guest stars this season include Erik Estrada, Mary-Margaret Humes, Peter Haskell, Edward Albert, Kent McCord and Anne Francis. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Moving its production unit from Spain to Hollywood for its second season, Dark Justice serves up 22 new episodes in which the benevolent vigilante group The Night Watchman, secretly commandeered by Judge Nick Marshall, mete out punishment to criminals who have otherwise evaded capture by using the intricacies of the legal system for their own advantage. This year, Bruce Abbott replaces Ramy Zada in the leading role of Judge Marshall, though Dick O'Neill and Clayton Prince return as the Judge's versatile operatives Moon and Gibs. Also carried over from season one is Carrie-Ann Moss as Marshall's faithful "Girl Friday" Tara, though she would only appear in a handful of episodes. New to the Night Watchman team is sexy private eye Kelly Cochrane (Janet Gunn), who tumbles to Marshall's secret identity but who joins his team after he tracks down the "dirty cops" who have ganged-raped her right outside the Federal courthouse. Another new face is that of Joanne Haas as Kari-Lynn, a toothsome waitress who occasionally assists the Night Watchmen in their various schemes and scams. The move from Spain to Tinseltown enables the producers to hire more easily recognizable actors for guest-star appearances. Among those showing up in Season Two of Dark Justice are Elyssa Davalos,Erin Gray, andahl Bergman, David Groh, Joseph Campanella, Priscilla Barnes and Lauren Tewes. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
