The space opera's third season picks up a short time after the Colonial fleet was forced to abandon the bulk of humanity on the harsh but habitable New Caprica as the Cylons descended upon the defenseless settlement. While the commanders of Galactica and Pegasus, Adm. William Adama (Edward James Olmos) and Cdr. Lee "Apollo" Adama (Jamie Bamber), clash over the admiral's plan to rescue those left behind, resistance guerrillas led by Col. Saul Tigh (Michael Hogan) use suicide bombers to strike back at the Cylon occupiers on New Caprica. The occupation produces heroes, traitors and hostages-the last best personified by Capt. Kara "Starbuck" Thrace (Katee Sackhoff), who becomes a Cylon's love interest. Captive Cylon Sharon (Grace Park) redeems herself when she agrees to help Adm. Adama rescue the citizens of New Caprica. While the rescue operation unfolds, defrocked president Gaius Baltar (James Callis) locates Sharon's Cylon-human baby and accepts an invitation from D'Anna (Lucy Lawless) to join the Cylons. The large-scale rescue proves successful, but the occupation leaves emotional scars on the survivors, particularly Starbuck and Tigh, who stir up dissent within the ranks. Adm. Adama endeavors to heal his crew with a boxing event that ends up being cathartic for Starbuck and Apollo. While trying to prove his worth to the Cylons, Baltar helps D'Anna probe the mythical "final five" humanoid Cylons-who have become lost to the rest of their race-an investigation that doesn't sit well with the Cylon Cavil (Dean Stockwell). A food shortage forces the Colonial fleet to traverse a dangerous passage to an algae planet, home to a mysterious temple that houses a veritable road map to Earth, which the Cylons also covet. The tragic loss of a troubled crewmate and a sensational trial onboard Galactica become game-changing milestones during the fleet's quest for Earth. ~ Michael Chant, Rovi

Tess Gallagher (Kathleen Quinlan) is naturally upset when the husband of her daughter Jenny (Lori Heuring abandons his family--to run off with another man. Before long, however, Tess has gotten over the initial shock, and is industriously mounting a campaign to find a new husband for Tess, and a new father for Tess' wisecracking son Jesse (Lori Heuring). Not altogether with her daughter's blessing, Tess places Jenny's picture and bio on the "Perfect Match" dating website, resulting in proposals (and propositions) from lonely guys all over the world. The most attractive and personable of these internet Romeos is British college professor Peter Campbell (Henry Ian Cusick), who is himself coming off a failed romance--and who, incidentally is years older than Jenny. Howver, the question posed by this made-for-cable movie is not "Can a May-December affair be truly successful?", but rather "For pity's sake, Jenny, when will you wake up notice how your best friend Miles Healey (Michael Trucco) is silently pining away for you????" Three sad sacks learn the connection between crime and auto repair in this independent comedy. Frank (Brent Florence), Neil (Christian Leffler), and Joey (Kenny Luper) are three 20-something buddies living in a one horse town in Northern California. After Frank's girlfriend gives him his walking papers, he decides to move to the big city, and Neil and Joey agree to join him. However, they don't have a bankroll for the trip, so they make plans to steal the take from the neighborhood bingo hall. The robbery barely earns the three adventurers enough money to fill up their gas tank, but they throw caution to the wind and hit the road anyway. Before long, Frank's car bites the dust, and soon the three friends are back to petty crime in order to get back on the highway. This romantic comedy looks at the notion that opposites attract. Actress Anne Henning (Traylor Howard) is hired for a soap-opera role as the girlfriend of the daytime drama's doctor, played by Jack Westmore (Edward Kerr). Over lunch, the two actors hit it off, and Anne listens to Jack's proposal of a "no strings" relationship, agreeing to a date because he's "the opposite of what I want." In truth, Jack is taken aback by a woman who acts "like a man." Taking a conceptual cue from the late Dennis Potter, the story intercuts the duo in soap-opera scenes, blending fantasy and reality.
