When the manufacturers of The Pony Game stage an essay contest and Cindy's entry is chosen as the best of the best, filmmakers Bob and Dave set out to produce a documentary about the game starring Cindy and her friends. Heather Morgan (who also scripted the film) portrays a dog-walker who has decided to stop talking and begins to act like the animals she tends to. The film is concerned mostly with her husband Peter (Lee Tergesen) and his attempts to help his wife. The supporting cast of this whimsical comedy includes Hank Azaria as Peter's most trusted friend, Vincent D'Onofrio as a psychiatrist who is in need of some mental health care, and Friends co-star Lisa Kudrow as a veterinarian. A determined band of show-business bottom feeders struggle to rise through the food chain in this satiric comedy. Paulette Gittleman (Katherine Morgan) is an aspiring documentary filmmaker whose father (Nicholas Worth) is a top executive at a major film studio. Paulette, who doesn't get along especially well with her father, has decided to give the hand that feeds her a strong bit by making a film about the hapless souls who struggle along the lowest rungs of the entertainment industry, taking all manner of abuse in the hope that they'll some day rise to a position in which they'll get to do what they want. Paulette's subjects include Fisher (Hill Harper), personal assistant to a sleazy music video producer; Thomas (Howard Scott), who sorts mail and dodges abuse at a major talent agency; Dean (Andre Barron), an out-of-work filmmaker who thinks the ghost of Alfred Hitchcock speaks to him; George (Elliot Markman), another mailroom worker whose boss is literally in league with the devil; and Roman (Rob Hyland), who appears to have already learned the lesson that the sleaziest tend to survive best in Hollywood. After a date with nympho Lola Vagina (Heather Morgan) goes nowhere, Charles meets elderly Florence (Martha Greenhouse). Married to a gambler (Joe Dolphin), Flo hasn't heard from her son (Greg Hahn) for two decades. After her husband is killed by a pack of wild dogs, Charles and Flo marry -- but then her son returns and she also decides to adopt a gun-wielding teen named Clean (Bruce Brown). It's all too much for Charles, who decides to head back to his photo shop. Gagwriter Louis C.K. has scripted for David Letterman, Conan O'Brien (seen here in a cameo), Dana Carvey, and Chris Rock.
