In this political drama from Turkey (which was based on an actual incident), Deniz Gezmis (Berhan Simsek) is a political activist who, as a member of a radical group, helps kidnap four American soldiers, releasing them soon afterward. A few hours later, Gezmis and two of his compatriots are arrested, and they stand trial for their actions. While the symbolic kidnapping makes them heroes in the eyes of many, they must pay the ultimate price for their idealistic gesture: Gezmis and the two other students are sentenced to death and soon executed. This film is the directorial debut of 29-year-old Graham Guit, who co-scripted with Eric Neve. Young Frenchman Lenny (Melvil Poupaud) takes some cocaine from London to Paris where he makes a risky connection with dapper drug dealer Joel (Jean-Phillippe Ecoffey) and his violent henchman Sammy (Issac Sharry), splitting the scene to get a plane ticket before they discover he's cut the coke. Joel's girlfriend Juliette (Romane Bohringer) seduces Lenny and makes off with the cash. But then Juliette falls for Lenny, decides to double-cross Joel, and departs with a suitcase of cash -- so she thinks. Instead of money, the suitcase contains many valuable vials of the drug Special K. While Lenny and Juliette search for a buyer so they can unload the Special K, Joel and Sammy are in hot pursuit. In this very physical comedy, Thomas (Mathieu Demy) is an unusually goofy young man, and is forever tripping over something. However, when he chances upon the lovely Marion (Aurelia Thieree), he achieves new heights of ineptitude because he is thoroughly smitten. Luckily for him, his best friend has a girlfriend (Chiara Mastroianni) who will work to help him get to know her. Unluckily, another girl (Camila Mora) whom he isn't interested in is just as smitten with him as he is with Marion.
