Some might call Jeda (Keir Howeld) a loser: his life revolves around beer, television, and not much else. One would wonder, then, why his girlfriend, Stacy (Keeley Mills), stays with him, and she begins to wonder as well when the pompous Monty (Jonathan Rhodes) shows up to point out Jeda's shortcomings. Now Jeda is on a mission to prove himself, and decides that the best way to do it is to start his own political party. After all, what better way to win back his girlfriend than to establish world peace? ~ Cammila Albertson, All Movie Guide
Joseph Dorman wrote and directed this biographical documentary tracing four Jewish intellectuals from NYC's City College during WW II to the present day -- political essayist Irving Kristol, sociologist Nathan Glazer, the late socialist literary critic Irving Howe (who died in 1993), and social theorist Daniel Bell. At CCNY, debates raged in the school's cafeteria, later continuing in the pages of influential academic journals. Alan Rosenberg narrates. Shown at the 1997 Boston Jewish Film Festival. ~ Bhob Stewart, All Movie Guide
