In this often violent, undistinguished western, Yellow Hair (Laurene Landon) and her cohort the Pecos Kid (Ken Roberson) are out to wrest some gold from the hands of the Tulipan nation but have to battle a Mexican general and several others, as well as the Tulipan themselves before they can even think of getting their hands on the treasure. Knowledge is on their side since they were raised by an Apache woman, and although Yellow Hair is more than just an average warrior-women, she is in just an average film, at best. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

Although ostensibly set in the future after a nuclear holocaust has destroyed the ozone layer, and much of everything else, this feeble sci-fi road film has gangs on motorbikes or driving 1,000-year-old cars from the 1970s in perfect running order, at war for water, a rare commodity. On the one hand, there is Alien (Robert Jannucci) and his female friend Trash (Alicia Moro), and the bionic child Tommy (Luca Ventantini) who are pitted against the evil bikers headed by Crazy Bull (apparently not meant to be a reference to the film). The brave trio join up with Papillon for awhile, an ex-astronaut with expertise in fixing old cars and broken bionic parts. Once set in good working order, the trio now has to take on Crazy Bull and the bad guys, one of which is actually a really nasty female. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

The title of this movie raises an issue that is never really met head-on in the story, instead, the focus seems to be on a meandering sub-plot. The Pope (Terence Stamp) was once Father Andreani, a teacher of Father Bruno Martello (Fabrizio Bentivoglio) when Father Bruno was studying at the Catholic University. As Father Andreani rises up the hierarchy until the cardinals choose him from among their ranks to be the Supreme Pontiff, Father Bruno errs by breaking his celibacy vows with a gorgeous terrorist and heads in the opposite direction -- actually, to India where he is given a magical mixture that induces a transcendental state, and apparently changes his politics as well. Once back in Italy, he is convinced by opposition bishops to murder the Pope -- but the ex-Father Bruno has his own devious plot in mind. Little does the Pope know what is in store for him, as the altered-consciousness of his old student fixates on a little bit of the mind-bending mixture that he has reserved for very special occasions. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

An accountant driven over the edge takes matters into his own hands and shoots his boss dead. During a chase on foot through the Chamartin train station in Madrid, the man takes aim again and kills the lead police officer, then he keeps on running until he jumps into a phone booth occupied by a young woman - and the two are magnetized by a sudden attraction. Later on, the woman sees him on the street and helps to take care of his wounded arm, thereby sealing their romance, though love has little time to blossom as they must continue eluding those persistent cops. Not a good background for a stable relationship, especially when you are really fighting multinational corporations controlled by American interests. With that last component, the cards seem stacked against the newly-formed romantic duo. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

Miller (Hugo Stiglitz) is a reporter on to something when he sees passengers disembark from a plane and start attacking and murdering whomever they come across -- no, they are not upset with their service, they are zombies -- or more accurately ghouls who need human blood to stay alive. While flight attendants may contend that more than one ghoul is on any flight, this group was contaminated by a man exposed to radiation that leaked from a nuclear plant, and they are hereafter identifiable by their black-face make-up, if not their eating habits. When Miller tries to notify the citizens that these monsters are on the loose, he is rudely stopped by a nasty general (Mel Ferrer) who does not want to make the public unnecessarily hysterical. The monsters have a molecular structure that is not affected by bullets, and so in imitation of the accepted code that zombies only die with a shot to the head, the general launches his attack "aiming for the control center" of each zombie head, before everyone is converted into the blood-thirsty monsters. With anemic acting, murky color, and other technical problems, this is simply another zombie film among the masses. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

After being dissatisfied with Mario Bava]'s original cut of Lisa and the Devil, producer Alfredo Leone decided to capitalize on the continued popularity of The Exorcist and inserted a handful of exorcism scenes (shot with the assistance of Bava) into the film and releasing it under the title, House of Exorcism. Innocent, voluptuous Lisa (Elke Sommer) begins her travails when she keeps on encountering a sinister fellow (Telly Savalas), carrying around a mannequin of a man she has killed. Unfortunately for her, she ends up hiding in the mansion of a psycho family where death looms overhead. All of this is intercut with an exorcism story starring Robert Alda as a priest who is trying to help a now-possessed Lisa regain her grip on reality. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi

A reformed bounty-hunter (Antonio De Teffe) comes to the town of Paso Bravo to avenge his murdered wife and daughter in this entertaining spaghetti western. Being that the man comes into town as an unarmed teetotaler, he is soon the object of scorn and ridicule by the hard-bitten locals. He gets beaten up and degraded a great deal, then finally decides to fight back and strap on the gun he swore never to wear again. This decision leads to a showdown with a sleazy, sadistic land baron (Eduardo Fajardo), turning in one of his most delightfully repellent performances. Intense characterizations and palpable tension make this film, director Salvatore Rosso's sole western, a treat for genre fans. ~ Robert Firsching, Rovi

Jed (Tomas Milian) is an unlikely hero in this Italian western. As thoroughly unlikeable a robber as ever walked the West, he nonetheless robs from the rich and gives to the poor. Not only is he a murderous, ill-tempered sort, he is bad-mannered, too. When Sonny (Susan George) decides he should be her man and teach her how to be a proper outlaw, sparks fly. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi

In this chiller from Italian director Mario Bava, Elke Sommer stars as Lisa, a young tourist who keeps running into a strange bald man who carries around a mannequin. The bald man is Leandre (Telly Savalas), the butler at the estate of a blind Countess (Alida Valli) and her slightly off-kilter son Max (Alessio Orano). In a bizarre turn of events, Lisa kills a man in self-defense and winds up hitching a ride with Frances Lehaf, his wife Sophia (Sylva Koscina), and her chauffeur/lover George. Car troubles land them at the Countess' estate where Lisa is plagued by strange dreams and visions of the man she killed. More troubling for Lisa is that both the dead man and Max appear to know her. Meanwhile, the other guests begin to die: George is murdered by an unseen assailant, Sophia runs over her husband with the car, and then is dispatched herself by a killer who is revealed to be Max. Lisa awakens in Leandre's room full of dummies and runs off through the house. She encounters Max, who shows her the skeletal remains of Eleanor, the lover he killed for having an affair with his stepfather. Max believes that Lisa is Eleanor reincarnated. After an odd sex scene, he is confronted by his mother whom he winds up stabbing to death. Moments later, she reappears and the shock sends Max falling to his own death. Lisa awakens in the house, which now appears to have been abandoned for decades. She boards an airplane to head home, but in a chilling climax, she discovers the plane devoid of all passengers...except for a few old friends including the diabolical Leandre. ~ Patrick Legare, Rovi
