Lacey Chabert Movies
A TV star with Broadway and animation voice work experience, Lacey Chabert finally made her movie debut on-camera in the big screen version of Lost in Space (1998). Born in Purvis, MS, Chabert began performing as a small child, learning how to play the violin and piano as well as sing and act. After playing the young Cosette in the Broadway production of Les Miserables for two years and appearing on the TV daytime serial All My Children, Chabert became a prime-time star playing one of the beleaguered Salinger family members on the Fox drama Party of Five (1995-2000). As the precocious youngest daughter Claudia, Chabert aged from child violin prodigy to grounded, if occasionally confused, teen before the show ended its run. While working on Party of Five, Chabert lent her voice to the animated movies Anastasia (1997) and An American Tail III: Treasure of Manhattan Island (1998). Chabert gained further notice as difficult daughter Penny Robinson in the big-screen Space, but the film was not quite the blockbuster it was expected to be. The lack of positive reviews did little to slow the actresses career though, as she continued to do frequent voice work (The Wild Thornberries Movie (2002) and Rugrats Go Wild! (2003)), as well as showing her face again in Not Another Teen Movie and Hometown Legend (both 2001).After climbing the credits as a tormenting teen in the 2004 comedy Mean Girls, Chabert would next dive headlong into a night of playful teen mischief in the 2004 teen comedy Dirty Deeds.

The fourth animated TV incarnation of Stan Lee and Steve Ditko's evergreen comic-book superhero and megamovie franchise "Spider-Man", the weekly, 30-minute The Spectacular Spider-Man returned to basics as an "origins" show, a la the live-action "Superman" derivation Smallville. Having only recently been bitten by a radioactive spider, 16-year-old high school junior Peter Parker was having a lot of trouble adjusting to his new powers, specifically the ability to climb walls, and his heightened "spidey-sense." This would be bothersome enough if Peter had been an adult, but as a high-schooler he was also struggling with such issues as teen angst, peer pressure and raging hormones. In addition to surrounding the hero with younger versions of such friends, family members and coworkers as Aunt May, Mary Jane, Gwen, and bombastic "Daily Flash" editor J. Jonah Jameson, the series was also well stocked with the familiar "Spider-Man" villains, among them the Sandman, Doc Ock, Venom, Electro, and the pre-Green Goblin Harry Osborn; foremost among the heavies was the Vulture, head of the fearsome assassination group known as the Enforcers. Based on the same-named video game and toy line, the weekly, half-hour CGI series Bratz concerned a quartet of teenaged girls with "a passion for fashion"--and unusually oversized heads. Cloe, Sasha, Yasmin and Jade were all correspondents for their own, self-created teen magazine. From their headquarters at Stiles High, the girls traveled across the world and back again for the hottest news about the hottest trends. Meanwhile, ill-tempered Burdine Maxwell, editor of the rival "Your Thing" magazine, cooked up scheme after scheme to outscoop--and outwit--our heroines. Although the premise of the series would seem to be along the lines of "Barbie Goes Wild", the producers of Bratz were careful to include a potent moral message at the end of each episode, usually along the lines of "Be true to yourself and a loyal friend to others." The setting is the City of Angels, the players: a deranged kidnapper, a ruthless lesbian assassin, a sociopath call-girl, and a demented cult leader. Daphne (Holly) is an empathetic caregiver who has been tending to the needs of sever head-trauma patient Tom (Angelo Spizzirri). Tom's father is the head of a highly-profitable cult-like church. Though the shady religious sect proves highly profitable, it turns out that the greedy guru has been keeping most of the profits to himself while paying Daphne such a meager wage that she isn't even able to afford Tom's medicine. Frustrated after being refused a raise by the mysterious religious fanatic, Daphne eventually resorts to kidnapping Tom's mentally deficient sister (Steffany Huckaby) as a means of raising the funds needed to care for her helpless patient. Meanwhile, after a neurotic college professor (MacFadyen) is abandoned by his wife for another woman, he sets out on the road with a sexy student (Chabert) who's willing to do whatever it takes to maintain her GPA. When cold-blooded killer Marcy (Jill Bennett) is hired to take out Daphne and put an end to the well-intended kidnapping plot, all three stories come crashing together through a series of shocking coincidences. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Still worried that his bosses will discover that he's computer-illiterate, Drew (Drew Carey) hires a teenage girl named Grace (Lacey Chabert) to boost his technical savvy. Inasmuch as Drew can't even master C++ programming, Grace ends up doing all of Drew's office work, which arouses the ire of the girl's ex-boyfrined Jake (Samm Levine). Elswhere, Drew's brother Steve (John Carroll Lynch), emotionally overwrought since his breakup with Mimi (Kathy Kinney), moves in with Lewis (Ryan Stiles) and Oswald (Diedrich Bader)--who get so sick of Steve's whining that they endeavor to bring the couple back together, an undertaking that nearly costs them their precious karaoke machine. Produced by Jerry B. Jenkins of Left Behind and Navigators fame, Hometown Legend tells the story of a small Alabama town where football and faith come together. The downtrodden town has seen better days, and the community's high school is scheduled to close at the end of the year. In honor of the school's final year, the legendary coach of the once intimidating football program returns to give the kids another shot at glory. The no-nonsense coach (Terry O'Quinn) not only brings pride back to the team, but gives the town as a whole a glimmer of hope. The same tactics used in football--sacrificing individual goals and rather working for the sake of the team--becomes a metaphor for what the town needs to get back on its feet. Originally given a special telecast just after Super Bowl XXXIII on January 31, 1999, the debut episode of the iconoclastic animated series Family Guy immediately staked out its territory with a warm, life-affirming plotline in which one-year-old Stewie Griffin constructs a roomful of death traps to murder his mother, Lois, while his dad, Peter, accidentally "bombs" a football stadium with the world's largest (and least deserved) welfare check. Nor did the series revert to traditionalism when season one proper began its six-episode run four months later. In episode two, "I Never Met the Dead Man," Peter is driven to the edge of madness when denied television, Stewie builds a weather-controlling device, and a caricatured Erik Estrada reprises his Ponch character from CHiPs. But series creator Seth MacFarlane is only getting warmed up. Subsequent episodes include "Chitty Chitty Death Bang," wherein Peter and Lois' teenage daughter, Meg, joins a Moonielike cult and Waylon Jennings pops up out of nowhere; "Mind Over Murder," in which Peter, placed under house arrest for accidentally punching out a woman, establishes a neighborhood bar in his restaurant; "A Hero Sits Next Door," an irreverent showcase for the Griffins' neighbor, paraplegic police officer Joe; and "The Son Also Draws," which finds the family making a wrong turn into an Indian casino and digging up their Native American roots. Wrapping up season one is "Brian: Portrait of a Dog," in which the Griffin's talking, booze-guzzling pet hound, Brian, strikes a blow for canine civil rights, only to end up a "dead dog walking" at the local pound. At long, long last, 30-year-old Charlie Salinger (Matthew Fox), legal guardian of his four younger siblings, has tied the matrimonial knot with his erstwhile sweetheart Kirsten Bennett (Paula Devicq), who had come into the lives of the Salingers when she was hired as nanny for the younger children during Season One of Party of Five. By the time that the series' sixth and final season has run its course, Charlie and Kirsten will have become parents. Alas, the relationship between Charlie's 21-year-old brother Bailey (Scott Wolf) and his live-in girlfriend Sarah Reeves is a thing of the past--principally because actress Jennifer Love Hewitt) has transferred her characterization of Sarah to the spinoff series Time of Your Life. Nor is this the end of Bailey's woes; having hired his late dad's former partner Joe Magnus (Tom Mason) to manage the family's San Francisco restaurant, Bailey has his trust betrayed when Joe embezzles the profits and plunges the establishment into financial ruin. With all these setbacks, Bailey returns to his drinking habit--big time! In another development, 20-year-old Julia Salinger (Neve Campbell) is studying for a literary career at CalArts, while her marriage to Griffin (Jeremy London) further disintegrates. Suddenly, Julia's high school sweetheart Justin Thompson (Michael Goorjian), who hasn't been seen since Season Three, returns to San Francisco, reeling from an unhappy marriage of his own. Inevitably, Julia and Justin rediscover one another, and the old romantic spark roars back into flame. Elsewhere, Bailey's lifelong buddy Will (Scott McCorkle), who'd once gone steady with the departed Sarah, lands a good job in sports management; and the redoubtable Daphne Jablonski (Jennifer Aspen), the mother of Charlie's daughter Natalie, finds work at a strip club--and also finds time to begin an affair with Julia's hubby Griffin; and 16-year-old Claudia Salinger (Lacey Chabert) is able to graduate from high school a year early and fulfill her life's dream of enrolling at Julliard. As the series winds down, Bailey sells the family restaurant to finance Charlie's purchase of his own furniture business, and at the same time goes "cold turkey" and re-enrolls in college. Although the first season of the doggedly irreverent animated half-hour Family Guy didn't exactly set the ratings on fire, the series' devoted fan following was sufficient for Fox to order 21 new episodes for a second season. The opener finds the dysfunctional Griffin family developing even worse financial sense than normal when they inherit a mansion. Later on, Peter Griffin is forced to kidnap Pope John Paul II to prove something to his hyper-judgmental dad (voiced by Charles Durning); New Years Day of 2000 proves to be an apocalyptic experience as the Griffins rummage through the ruins of a bombed-out Quahog, RI -- and end up crossing paths with Randy Newman and the cast of Dallas; a quickie European vacation awakens the carnal lust in Brian the dog; and Norm MacDonald provides the voice of Mr. Death, who proves to be a crabby house guest when he breaks his skeletal leg in the Griffin living room (this is the one where Peter develops a "fatty corpuscle"). Also: Lois Griffin directs a community production of The King and I which devolves into a garish "leg show" and an obscene example of egos run amok; Murphy Brown's Candice Bergen and Faith Ford provide voices for an episode in which Peter gets in touch with his feminine side; daughter Meg's slumber party morphs into the new 24-hour TV reality series "The Real Griffins" (even though the "real Griffins" are replaced by celebrity actors); Brian and malevolent infant Stewie Griffin go into Hope-Crosby mode on "Road to Rhode Island"; Peter poses as a high school student, basking in the popularity he'd never enjoyed during his actual teen years; the Mob makes the family an offer they can't refuse (or make sense of) in an episode featuring the voice of The Shield's Michael Chiklis; son Chris needs liposuction, but it's Peter who gets the treatment, much to the jealous Lois' dismay; and Luke Perry sues Peter for defamation of character and bad writing. Season Five of Party of Five marks the fifth birthday of Owen Salinger, youngest member of the orphaned Salinger clan. Having been previously played by twin infants Brandon Porter and Taylor Porter, Owen is now portrayed by a single child actor, Jacob Smith--and, unfortunately, has also been revealed to have a learning disability. Elsewhere in the San Francisco-based Salinger household, 29-year-old Charlie Salinger (Matthew Fox), legal guardian of his younger siblings, is left to raise his baby daughter Diana alone when his irresponsible girlfriend Daphne (Jennifer Aspen) takes a powder. Charlie and his 20-year-old brother Bailey (Scott Wolf) later engage in a nasty custody battle over little Owen, but eventually Charlie allows Owen to live with Bailey and his girl friend Sarah (Jennifer Love Hewitt). Meanwhile, although 19-year-old Julia Salinger (Neve Campbell) is still the wife of Griffin Holbrook (Jeremy London), she enters into an affair with Ned Grayson (Scott Bairstow), the violent-tempered boyfriend of Julia's Stanford roommate Maggie (Heather McComb). And musically gifted 15-year-old Claudia Salinger (Lacey Chabert) is busily cooking up strategies to break out of boarding school and return home. As the season draws to a close, Charlie moves in with his former fiancée Kirsten (Paula Devicq), whose marriage to Dr. Paul Thomas (Tim Dekay) is on the rocks; and, balking at the notion of marrying her live-in boyfriend Bailey, Sarah prepares to leave for New York. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

This Nickelodeon series follows an eccentric family throughout the rainforests and wilds of the world as Nigel, the patriarch, films his travels for a future nature documentary. Unbeknownst to him, Nigel's 12-year-old daughter Eliza (voiced by former Party of Five star Lacey Chabert) is the one with the inside scoop on the wild kingdom at hand -- she can quite literally talk with any animal that crosses her path, most notably Darwin, her pet chimpanzee. Eliza's travels inevitably lead her into trouble; in each episode she is faced with saving her family and a host of wild animals from various terrible fates. Complicating the matter is Eliza's pact not to tell anyone of her mysterious gift, lest she lose her abilities. However, what he discovers under the city is a tribe of Native American mice who were driven underground by prejudiced European immigrants. The most daunting development in Party of Five's fourth season centers around 28-year-old Charlie Salinger (Matthew Fox), the legal guardian of his four orphaned siblings. After being the family's primary breadwinner since the deaths of his parents, Charlie is suddenly stopped in his tracks when he is diagnosed with Hodkin's disease. It now falls to Charlie's 19-year-old brother Bailey (Scott Wolf), the family's treasurer and chief problem-solver, to care for Charlie in the same selfless manner that Charlie has so long cared for him. This requires Bailey to drop out of college and assume ownership of the family's San Francisco restaurant; unfortunately, the pressures of his new responsibilities drives Bailey to drink. . .and drink. . .and drink. Ending up in Alcoholics Anonymous, Charlie meets and falls in love with the much-older Annie Mott (Paige Turco), who has a daughter named Natalie (Allison Bertolini). Eventually Annie will return to her boozing and run out on both Bailey and her daughter, whereupon Bailey's onetime girlfriend Sarah (Jennifer Love Hewitt) to take charge of Natalie. And by the time the season has ended and Bailey has become fulltime manager of Salinger's, he and Sarah are sweethearts again. Meanwhile, 18-year-old Julia Salinger (Neve Campbell) likewise gives up college in order to support her new husband Griffin (Jeremy London) when his business goes belly-up; before long Julia and Griffin have moved back in with her siblings, and ultimately Julia is able to resume her education at Stanford. And elsewhere on the matrimonial front, the family's former nanny--and Charlie's former fiancée--Kirsten Bennett (Paul Devicq) returns to San Francisco with her new husband, Dr. Paul Thomas (Tim Dekay), in tow. The good news at season's end is that Charlie has been cured of his disease. Season Three of Party of Five opens with the five orphaned Salinger siblings regaining control of their late parents' San Francisco restaurant, thanks to the last-minute intervention of their grandfather Jake (Carroll O'Connor). 26-year-old Charlie Salinger (Matthew Fox), legal guardian of his younger siblings, is still holding down two jobs to make ends meet, but is no longer engage to the kids' nanny Kirsten (Paula Devicq), who after being booted from her new teaching job for accidentally plagiarizing her doctoral dissertation, has left for Chicago. Charlie's current amour is Grace Wilcox (Tamara Taylor), an African American girl who moves in with the Salingers when her own house is destroyed. Alas, Charlie and Grace are destined to break up on the eve of her election as a member of the San Frisco City Counsel.
