Satan's son has arrived on Earth and He's not about to let human parents get in the way. When his wife Katherine's (Lee Remick) pregnancy ends in a stillbirth in a Rome hospital, U.S. diplomat Robert Thorn (Gregory Peck) substitutes another baby, whose mother died. Little Damien (Harvey Stephens) thrives, but, at his fifth birthday party, his nanny mysteriously dies; Father Brennan (Patrick G. Troughton) also expires after warning Thorn that he has adopted Lucifer's son. While sinister new nanny Mrs. Baylock (Billie Whitelaw) assiduously protects Damien, Thorn's fears escalate when photographer Jennings (David Warner) shows him pictures from Damien's party with marks suggesting how the nanny and Brennan would die. Thorn seeks out Bugenhagen (Leo McKern), an exorcist who confirms Damien's identity and tells Thorn that the only solution is to kill his adopted son. As the bodies pile up, Thorn tries to do his duty, but trust the law to get in the way of saving the world from future Armageddon. ~ Lucia Bozzola, All Movie Guide

After purchasing the diary of an alleged suicide victim at an auction, Della (Barbara Hale) is surprised when someone offers her $1000 for the book. Turning down the offer, the intrigued Della begins paging through the diary, ultimately arriving at the conclusion that its author did not kill herself, as originally reported. Della brings the diary to the attention of her boss Perry Mason (Raymond Burr)--thereby setting off a chain of strange and sordid events, culminating in Perry's defense of Josephine Kempton (Lurene Tuttle) on a murder charge. The "grinning gorilla" mentioned in the title is played by celebrated stunt man and simian impersonator Janos Prohaska. This episode is based on a 1952 novel by Perry Mason creator Erle Stanley Gardner. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Clint Howard is the center of attention on this Bonanza episode as impressionable young Michael Thorpe. When his father Evan (Simon Scott) is seriously wounded, Michael takes literally the words of Ponderosa ranchhand Lijah (Rodolfo Acosta), who mournfully declares that "Only God" can save Evan now. The boy sets off on a trek into the mountains to search for God-and believes he has gazed upon the face of the Almighty when he meets fugitive mountainer Tom Caine (Leif Erickson). Originally shown on December 19, 1965, "All Ye His Saints" was written by William Blinn. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

The "Eastern Seaboard" city referenced in the title of this episode remains unnamed, but all evidence suggests that the story takes place in (or at least near) Baltimore. The local civic leaders are proud of the fact that their city is completely free of crime, thanks to the efforts of a band of elected vigilantes. But mobster Lou Mungo (Mike Kellin) is determined to change all this, and for starters Mungo starts putting pressure on city commissioner Bodeen (Harvey Stephens), threatening to kill Bodeen's family if he doesn't play ball. The plan works, but Mungo starts getting too big for his britches--and after murdering a Federal agent, he finds himself in the cross-hairs of both "good guy" Elliot Ness (Robert Stack) and "bad guy" Frank Nitti (Bruce Gordon). ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

This trashy, low-budget melodrama sported old-fashioned theatrics and a second-rate cast and crew -- with the exception of the editor, who happened to be future filmmaker Frank Capra. When she gets out of prison, a girl known as the Firefly (Ora Carew) decides to go straight. She gets a maid's job at the home of Lowden (Eddie O'Brien), a lumber baron, and discovers all sorts of intrigue going on. Boden (Dick La Reno) is plotting to get his hands on Lowden's valuable timber lands, while Davis (George Wellington) wants to get the family fortune by marrying Lowden's daughter, May (Helen Howell). May steals her father's papers and when the real identity of the Firefly is exposed, it is easy to pin the theft on her. But a man (Jay Morley) comes into the picture and helps the Firefly prove her innocence and uncover the guilty parties. ~ Janiss Garza, All Movie Guide
