In this remake of the 1997 Jennifer Aniston romantic comedy of the same name, a young career woman must choose between the love of her life and the job of her dreams. Filmed in the Hindi language, Jaisi Karni Waisi Bharani is based on a story by Shivam Chitrya. Kader Khan plays an honest government official hampered by the criminal activities of his son Shakti Kapoor. When Khan refuses to okay a shady construction deal spearheaded by Kapoor, the older man's house is torn down in retribution. In this comedy, Arun is a shy young Indian man, who takes the same bus to work each morning with the lovely Prabha. After many abortive attempts to make her acquaintance, he finally succeeds, only to have her attentions drawn from him to the flamboyant and confident motor-scooter driver, Nagesh. Arun tries many methods of determining what he should do, beginning with fortune-tellers and astrologers. Finally, he enrolls under the tutelage of the love doctor, Colonel J.N.W. Singe, who instructs him in how to use positive thinking and artful one-upmanship to win back the attention of Prabha.
