In the 1920s, workers in the far southern province of Argentina went on strike for better working and living conditions. In this film, the story of that strike is depicted. The military commander sent to investigate decides that the strikers' complaints are justified, and he signs an agreement with them. As soon as he leaves, the industrialists and landowners ignore the agreement. When the workers strike again, the owners convince the government that this strike has been caused by the subversive action of the Chilean government, and the strikers are massacred. Three different love-related stories make up the 113-minute running time in this effective film by Argentine writer and director David José Kohon -all stories star María Vaner as different "Annas". In the first sketch, "The Earth," Anna is a young and idealistic woman on the verge of adulthood when her first relationship with a clerk shatters her dreams of the romantic life. In the next sketch, "The Air," Anna is a rebellious, easy-living type among some beach bums whose sexual leanings tend to tip the scale at active promiscuity. In the last story, "The Cloud," Anna only exists in the fertile imagination of an introverted lay-out man on a newspaper, dreaming of his ideal woman.
