The producers of Saw shine a little darkness on the City of Lights in this grim thriller about a naïve American visiting her sister in Paris, and the horror that unfolds as they descend into the city's vast Catacombs for a wild underground rave. Victoria (Shannon Sossamon) has never been to Paris, but when her sister Carolyn (Pink) invites her to an upcoming party, the prospect of living it up in the most romantic city on Earth proves too powerful to resist. Shortly after arriving in Paris, Victoria and Carolyn venture deep into the 200-mile limestone labyrinth constructed with the bones of seven million Parisians. Four men come together to find out how and why the woman who raised them was killed in this hard-edged urban drama from director John Singleton. Short-tempered Bobby (Mark Wahlberg), struggling musician Jack (Garrett Hedlund), streetwise Angel (Tyrese Gibson), and hard-working Jeremiah (Andre Benjamin) are four guys who don't appear to have much in common, in terms of either race or temperament. However, these men have one very important bond -- all four were adopted and raised by the same woman (Fionnula Flanagan), and they all love her as a mother, and respect one another as brothers. When their mother is killed during a robbery at a grocery store, the four brothers come together for the funeral, but when they don't get straight answers about what happened to her, they begin looking into the crime themselves. The deeper they dig into the case, the more the brothers begin to suspect that the shooting wasn't an accident, and that powerful and unexpected forces were involved. Four Brothers marked one of the first starring roles for Andre Benjamin, better known as Andre 3000 of the top selling hip-hop group OutKast. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Joel Campbell (James Spader) is a police detective who has recently relocated to Chicago after spending eight frustrating years trying to track down a vicious serial killer who has been terrorizing Los Angeles. However, the slayer, David Allen Griffin (Keanu Reeves), doesn't want the game of cat and mouse to end; even though he previously put his murderous activities on hold, Griffin has started murdering young women again -- and is sending clues to Campbell, mailing him photos of his intended victims and urging Campbell to save them while he still can. Also starring Marisa Tomei, Ernie Hudson, and Chris Ellis, The Watcher was directed by Joe Charbanic. It marked Charbanic's first feature project after directing videos for a number of alternative rock groups, including Soul Coughing, Sonic Youth, and Reeves' band, Dogstar. Three longtime friends try to untangle the knots of their love lives in this comedy. Darin (Paul Provenza), Matt (Stephan Dunham), and Kevin (John Gloria) all live in San Francisco. Darin recently married Natalie (Shannon Day), and while he loves her, he misses the excitement of bachelor life. Matt thinks that he's found a woman whom he can stick with in Maxine (Krista Taylor), but there's a catch -- she's already married to a close friend. Meanwhile, Kevin decides that he believes in love at first sight when he falls head over heels for a woman he sees on the street -- now he only has to find out who she is and then convince her that he's everything that she's been looking for.
