This drama, produced for Welsh television, takes place during World War II. A soldier flees his post in the chaos of the Dunkirk evacuation and escapes to the home of his mother in South Wales. Avoiding the military police, he hides in the attics of the row houses on his mother's block and staves off boredom by spying on the lives of the people living below, many of whom can sense that they're bring watched. After a while, enough people become aware of the soldier's presence that he begins receiving visitors, including his jealous younger brother and his former girlfriend, who is now married and expecting a baby.
