A same-sex couple puts their long-term relationship to the test as they negotiate the mechanics of having a baby in this German comedy. Sandra (Nicole Ansari) and Iris (Eva Gerzig) are a lesbian couple who have been partners for the past eight years. However, their relationship has hit a rough patch, and Iris thinks that they need something to solidify their commitment -- specifically, she wants to have a child. Sandra, an architect who is strongly devoted to her career, isn't so sure that this is a good idea, but Iris is convinced and begins pondering possible sperm donors. One day, Iris has a chance meeting with Antonio (Ralf Bauer), a friendly and good-looking man, and decides he's the right guy for the job. Sandra, however, is initially dubious since Antonio is one of her co-workers, and one she considers a rival. Instead of bringing Sandra and Iris together, the debate over Antonio only widens the rift between them. In time, Iris decides to take up with her friend Rosie (Viktoria Schubert), while Sandra indulges her love/hate relationship with Antonio by having a baby herself, with him as the donor. Zwei Frauen, Ein Mann und Ein Baby had its American premier at the 2001 San Francisco Gay and Lesbian Film Festival; an English-dubbed version was prepared for possible wide release in the United States. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

In much the same way Playboy makes videos of the Playmates from their magazine, Sports Illustrated follows up its 1999 swimsuit issue with a behind the scenes video that offers more to see than the pages capture. Cameras follow the photographers, crew and models around the world and capture the backstage jokes, bloopers and intimate conversations that took place while shooting. Models Heidi Klum, Laetitia Casta and Rebecca Romjin also discuss the stress of being on set and life as a supermodel. Some of the footage may not be suitable for younger audiences. ~ Ed Atkinson, Rovi

It is hardly a mystery why the Sport Illustrated Swimsuit Issue has become one of the most popular single issue magazines year in and year out. People's fascination with scantily clad women in exoctic locations is as close to a sure thing, in terms of sales, as you can get. And so it only makes sense for the magazine to back up its 1998 magazine release with a shot on location documentary. Filmed much like a Playboy Playmate video, the images range from behind the scenes shennigans, to wind wisped slow motion pans of the female body. Several of the scenes have voiced over interviews with photographers, camera crew and models Eva Herzigova, Heidi Klum and Tyra Banks accompanying the images. This video is definetly more risque than the magazine and may not be suitable for younger audiences. ~ Ed Atkinson, Rovi

In this charming fairy tale, a magical whale wreaks havoc in a small Austrian village. It all begins with a traveling showman and his giant stuffed whale. Roberto and his cetaceous companion have been touring the country for years. Just before he arrives at the aforementioned mountain village, he suffers a fatal heart attack. The townsfolk wheel the great whale into the town square and leave it there until they can find one of Roberto's relatives to pick it up. Eventually, they locate the lovely Sophie Moore. As she arrives, Carl is jilted by the free-spirited Maria at the alter. He vows never to leave the spot where she left him. But then he sees Sophie and changes his mind. The two pry open the whale's mouth and step into its belly. A magical feeling overtakes them and they make love. The entire time, Carl dreams of his Maria. Miraculously, she is waiting for him at the whale's mouth and is ready for marriage. Sophie doesn't know what to make of this turn of events. Suspecting the whale is magic, she quickly takes another lover into its bowels. Unfortunately, he was once jilted by Maria and wishes her to become a dog. The deed is done. Horrified, Sophie begins sleeping with every man in town in the hope that one will wish Maria was a woman again. Unfortunately, the men have other, more selfish wishes on their minds. Things get worse when Sophie discovers that the magic will only work once for each man. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi
