Famous film star Tom Haviland (Chad Michael Murray) is the primary suspect when a young Asian woman is found murdered in his bed. As Grissom (William L. Petersen) investigates, his findings are challenged by his old friend and mentor Philip Gerard (Raymond J. Barry). In fact, Gerard has been hired by Haviland's defense counsel to discredit the conclusions of the CSI in court. As it turns out, Grissom and his crew have made several significant errors -- but all this pales in the light of the episode's most startling revelation. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

In this direct-to-video sequel to the 1993 movie Dennis the Menace (which was based on Hank Ketcham's long-running comic strip), mischievous youngster Dennis (Justin Cooper) wants to help his eternally frazzled next-door neighbor Mr. Wilson (Don Rickles) celebrate his birthday, but Mr. Wilson is already feeling his age, and the lively Dennis only makes Wilson feel that much older -- and the arrival of Dennis's spry Grandfather (George Kennedy) doesn't help. Eager to feel younger, Mr. Wilson soon falls prey to a con man (Carrot Top) who sells him a variety of bogus youth-restoring potions. Dennis the Menace Strikes Again also features Betty White as Mrs. Wilson, and Dwier Brown and Jaqueline Steiger as Dennis's parents. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Naturally, Bobby is still in a very big party-hearty mood, so sports agent Dena Draeger (Bess Meyer) is around to keep an eye on Bobby's activities. An attorney who tells the truth for 24 hours straight? This has got to be the movies! Fletcher Reede (Jim Carrey) is a lawyer obsessed with his career, and he's devoted his life to bending the truth to his advantage. This habit has broken up his marriage to Audrey (Maura Tierney) and isn't doing much good for his relationship with his young son Max (Justin Cooper). Fletcher repeatedly promised Max that he'll be there for Max's eighth birthday party, but when an important assignment comes up at work, Fletcher calls Audrey and makes an excuse so flimsy that even Max can see through it. When it comes time to blow out the candles on his cake, Max makes a wish: that his Dad could go just one day without telling a lie. Suddenly, Max finds himself physically incapable of saying anything that isn't true -- which, given the divorce settlement case he's just been handed, is going to make his next day in court very interesting indeed. While designed to show off a warmer and more likable side of Jim Carrey's personality, Liar Liar still revels in the broad physical comedy that made Carrey a star in Ace Ventura, Pet Detective -- which makes sense, since both were directed by Tom Shadyac. Both Carrey's fans and foes will get a chuckle out of Swoosie Kurtz's tongue-in-cheek insult to the film's star in the blooper reel that runs under the final credits. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

After the initial shock of discovering that his girlfriend Kelly (Brittany Powell) has a son, Eric (Will Friedle) makes a big show of the fact that it doesn't bother him. Indeed, he is more than willing to play "Uncle Daddy" to the boy, if only to prove that he's mature enough to handle the responsibility. However, his maturity does not extend to informing his parents about Kate's situation. Meanwhile, Cory (Ben Savage) and his friends grit their teeth and prepare themselves for the much-dreaded but inevitable SATs. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

When Benton (Eriq La Salle) breaks his hand in a parking-lot fracas, Carter (Noah Wyle) must replace him in surgery. Greene (Anthony Edwards) is forced to mediate in the ongoing battle of wills between Lewis (Sherry Stringfield) and Weaver (Laura Innes), and also tends to the needs of an elderly, abandoned woman (Celia Kushner). And outside the walls of the ER, paramedic Shep (Ron Eldard) again puts his life on the line. This ER episode originally aired on the same evening that the heavily promoted ABC series Murder One debuted, leading observers to wonder which series would pull the biggest audience (guess who won). ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
