Season three of House begins eight weeks after Dr. Greg House (Hugh Laurie) was shot down by the disgruntled husband of a clinic patient. Fresh out of rehab, House no longer needs the cane which has propped him up since the beginning of the series, and thanks to his new Ketamine medication he no longer suffers any pain at all--as proven when we see him jogging to the clinic, where he willingly takes charge of a mute, quadrapegic cancer victim (Edward Edwards) who has driven his wheelchair into a swimming pool. This is not the House we are accustomed to: Where's his anger, his resentment of his patients, his arrogant disdain of his fellow workers? And how long will it be before the pain resumes and House reverts to his usual nasty self? Monk (Tony Shalhoub) is called in to investigate the supposedly accidental" death of of Elliot D'Souza (Mark Tymchyshyn), chief financial officer for the notorious girlie magazine "Sapphire". Elliot's secretary Miss Luden (Fay Masterson) is convinced that he was murdered by Sapphire's publisher Dexter Larsen (Gary Cole)--who, naturally, has the usual airtight alibi. Complicating matters so far as Monk is concerned is the fact that his nurse-assistant Sharona (Bitty Schram) once posed nude for "Sapphire" and is trying to keep this secret from her son. Shortly after graduating from the University of California at Santa Barbara, filmmaker Tom Peosay and his wife Sue (an Asian Studies major) set out on a tour of Asia that culminated in an extended stay in the Chinese-occupied nation of Tibet. With that formative visit, the Peosays became actively interested in the small Himalayan nation's tempestuous history and, over the course of the next decade, made a number of return visits to document Tibet's story, as well as interview a number of its residents and higher-profile participants of the "Free Tibet" movement. Their completed documentary, entitled Tibet: Cry of the Snow Lion, encompasses a brief history of China's invasion and subsequent five decades of rule, as well as the various uprisings that have occurred over the years -- with particular emphasis on the 1987 riots. Bob Hoskins stars as Manuel "Tony" Noriega, former leader of Panama, in this biographical comedy-drama about his improbable rise to power and inglorious fall. Abandoned by his parents at an early age, Noriega grew up fending for himself among the desperate poverty of Panama's slums. In search of a career, he joined the Panamanian Army, and rose through the ranks to become a powerful military leader. In time, Noriega became Panama's dictator, but the widespread corruption of his administration, his inability to tell the truth, and over-reliance on political assassination caused him to lose the support of the people, especially after the mutilated corpse Hugo Spadafora (Ivo Cutzardia), his chief political rival, is discovered in the jungle. Noriega also loses the support of Cuban leader Fidel Castro (Michael Sorich) when he enters into an agreement with a drug ring to refine cocaine in Panama, but then buckles under pressure from the U.S. government and destroys the processing plant. The CIA, who once regarded Noriega as a friendly ally in Latin America, have turned their back on him, and Vice President George Bush starts acting as though they never met. Even Noriega's wife Felicidad (Denise Blasor) and mistress Vicki (Rosa Blasi) seem to have given up on him. In a bid to save face, Noriega hires a public relations man (Richard Masur), who suggests that holding open elections might be a good idea. Noriega agrees, but then changes his mind when it becomes obvious that his candidates will loose. Beset by enemies on all sides and trying to flee American troops, Noriega hides out in the Vatican Embassy, where he confesses his sins as U.S. soldiers try to drive him out with loud music. It's Christmas time in Sunnydale and like Scrooge, Angel (David Boreanaz) is being haunted by the ghosts of his past victims, namely Jenny Calendar (Robia La Morte). He seeks help from Giles (Anthony Head), and later even shares a dream with Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar), where he bites her. Jenny appears and tells him the dream represents his true evil desires. Meanwhile, Giles discovers the three Harbingers -- blind priests who utilize the evil and archaic power of the First. The First has taken on the visage of Jenny and taunts Angel to kill Buffy. The First also predicts the death of Angel by sunrise. On a cliff, waiting for morning and Angel's impending death, Buffy releases all the pent up angst she has felt since Angel's return from Hell. ~ Matt Collar, Rovi

Angling for an "Easy A", Will (Will Smith) suggests that Bel-Air academy begin offering a Black History class. Much to his surprise, the class is taught by his own Aunt Vivian (Janet Hubert-Whitten), a brilliant historian who has probably forgotten more about African-American culture than Will will ever learn! Paul Verhoeven's American breakthrough film, Robocop, is an exceedingly violent blend of black comedy, science fiction, and crime thriller. Set in Detroit sometime in the near future, the film is about a policeman (Peter Weller) killed in the line of duty whom the department decides to resurrect as a half-human, half-robot supercop. The RoboCop is indestructible, and within a matter of weeks he has removed crime from the streets of Detroit. However, his human side is tortured by his past, and he wants revenge on the thugs who killed him. Bo (John Schneider) and Luke (Tom Wopat) champion the cause of runaway heiress Suzy Holmes (Susan Walden), who has stowed away in the boys' car to avoid the hired minions of her nasty millionaire father C.J. Holmes (Robert Alda). Hoping to elope with her boyfriend Fred Andrews (Edward Edwards), Suzy persuades the Dukes to help deliver her fiance across the county line--in effect asking our heroes to break their parole and risk arrest. Mr. Holmes strikes back at the Dukes by kidnapping Uncle Jesse (Denver Pyle), while Boss Hogg (Sorrell Booke) also gets into the game, hoping that by returning Suzy to her daddy he'll be rewarded with one of the famous Holmes oil wells.
