Pop star Joey Lawrence stars in this blend of comedy and horror about a group of college kids who get a lot more than they counted on when they head to Mexico for a good time. Film student Johnny Orpheus (Lawrence) and his buddies Paul (Nathan Anderson) and Al (Josh Marchette) decide to head down to Mexico's Rosaferno Beach for a major league party, held to commemorate the national celebration of the Day of the Dead. A Mexican medicine man persuades Johnny to try a potion that will allow him to read women's minds, doubtless a great advantage in winning the girl of your dreams. Johnny tries it, only to discover it also makes him see Hector (Rene L. Moreno), a horrific demon who has risen from hell to reclaim the hand of his former lover, Carlotta. A careless medical courier has left a package containing a human heart in the termional on Halloween. Once they'd ascertained the package's contents, most of the terminal gang embark upon a frantic search for the missing courier. What's Love Got to Do With It? is the filmed biography of R&B/pop singer Tina Turner (Angela Bassett), documenting her efforts to break away from her abusive husband Ike (Laurence Fishburne). After a few scenes detailing Tina's life as a young singer in Nutbush, TN, she's discovered by Ike Turner, an already established songwriter, guitarist, and record producer. Ike takes Tina under his wing and makes her a star, but her fame makes him jealous and abusive, and she has to struggle to break free of his domination. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Movie Guide

And still they come? This fourth entry in the Halloween franchise focuses on Jamie Lloyd (Danielle Harris), the niece of ubiquitous masked-killer Michael Myers (George P. Wilbur). Jamie tries to lead a normal life, but she can't escape the vengeance of her "funny uncle," who once more escapes from the looney bin. The only echo of the original Halloween -- and a faint one at that -- is the casting of Donald Pleasence as Dr. Loomis, who manages to get through his "We must stop him!" scenes as if mouthing the words for the first time. Though as predictable as they come, Halloween 4 etc. is at least well acted, directed and photographed. For the record, the German version of the film had to be shorn of practically all its gore before the censors would permit a general release. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
