A handful of kids stranded without their parents is determined to make the most of a bad situation in this comedy. It's Christmas Eve, and Oliver Porter (Lewis Black), the passenger relations manager at a busy airport in the Midwest, is looking forward to spending Christmas in Hawaii with his wife after 15 years in a row working on the busy Yuletide holiday. However, fate conspires against him when a massive snowstorm sweeps in and all flights are canceled. Porter suddenly has to deal with a number of stranded passengers, including six tween-age kids who are each flying unaccompanied from one divorced parent to another -- spoiled little rich girl Grace (Gina Mantegna), geeky but likable Spencer (Dyllan Christopher), his pesky little sister Katy (Dominique Saldana), plus-size comic book fan Beef (Brett Kelly), grumpy tomboy Donna (Quinn Shephard), and bright but mischievous Charlie (Tyler James Williams). With his hands full and determined to make his way to the islands, Porter puts his assistant Zach Van Bourke (Wilmer Valderrama) in charge of the kids. Zach doesn't care for this assignment and the kids don't care for him, and before long they've escaped from the basement conference room where he's stashed them and turned the airport into their playground. Unaccompanied Minors also features Paget Brewster, Rob Corddry and Teri Garr. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

A forest ranger stumbles into a den of eccentrics when he takes a job in a small town in this Mormon-themed comedy. Tartan Jones (Dan Merkley) is a 29-year-old man trained as a forest ranger who lives in Provo, UT, but is eager to get away, mainly so his friends and relatives will stop trying to fix him up with a "nice" girl, especially his mother (Jan Broberg Felt). Jones takes a job in a small town in the Southwest called Longfellow, though the locals prefer to call it Longwinded. Longfellow is home to 524 people -- 262 Mormons and 262 Baptists, a matter that has inspired no small amount of lively debate and less than friendly rivalry among the townsfolk over the years. Jones' membership in the Church of Latter Day Saints becomes a matter of contention when it's learned he's the "tiebreaker" who finally gives the Mormons a numerical advantage over the Baptists. Jones attempts to broker peace between both sides by staging an "all faith barbecue" for the entire community, but getting everyone involved to eat a burger together turns out to be a lot more difficult than expected. Making matters all the more complicated for Jones is Charity Hall (Heather Beers), an attractive woman who has arrived in town following a bad breakup with her boyfriend; she seems to like Jones but would prefer to stay out of Longfellow's religious debate altogether, perhaps wisely. Baptists at Our Barbecue was based on the comic novel of the same name by Mormon author Robert Farrell Smith. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Though Monica (Roma Downey) and her fellow angels aren't quite certain why female auto mechanic Tracy Beringer (Ele Keats) so desperately needs the first-prize money from a beauty pageant, they are committed to helping her achieve her goal. As it happens, Tracy's motivations are not the only mystery surrounding her. She never lets anyone see the inside of her apartment; she is constantly changing the story of how her parents were "killed"; and though she seems resigned to a lifetime of automotive work, she is actually a brilliant (if curiously uninspired) pianist. Needless to say, there is a surprise in store for everyone before this story--and Tracy's crisis of faith--can be resolved. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

This made-for-TV film was based on a real-life, nail-biting hostage situation. The incident began when a deranged gunman, disgruntled for a variety of reasons, burst into the maternity ward at the Alta View Hospital in Sandy, Utah. Holding mothers, babies and nurses captive, the gunman clearly intended to kill as many people as possible before he himself was subdued by the police. Harry Hamlin, light-years away from LA Law, plays the psychotic intruder, while Terri Garr co-stars as the maternity nurse who struggles to act as the voice of reason. Filmed on location in Salt Lake City, Deliver Them From Evil premiered April 28, 1992. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Victoria Principal plays the sightless but extremely independent wife of Stephen Macht, who is murdered by intruders in her presence (a harrowing sequence, even within TV standards). Though she could see nothing, Principal is counting on her sensory and olfactory reminiscences, as well as her own instincts, to help the police track down the murderer. Naturally, this results in the killer stalking the "helpless" Principal, who proves to be nothing of the sort. Victoria Principal not only starred in Blind Witness (working like a demon to make her blindness utterly convincing), but also functioned as the film's co-executive producer. This made-for-TV movie debuted on November 26, 1989, heralded by the requisite TV Guide cover story. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
