Three buxom bimbos from outer space go for an intergalactic joyride in a sporty little ship only to run out of fuel and make a forced landing on a small blue planet--Earth. They land upon a California beach and get involved with a few handsome beach bums. When the galaxy gals learn that beatnik Bud, an uncle of one the surfer dudes, is about to lose his beat-up beach pad because he can't afford to repair it, they decide to enter a bikini contest. They certainly have what it takes with their uniquely designed suits, but can they outwit an over-ambitious swimwear designer who will do anything to stop them? ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
No sooner did Jurassic Park score at the box office than the imitations began turning up like bad pennies. The redoubtable Fred Olen Ray, once more delivering a bankable project at the least possible cost, was responsible for Dinosaur Island. Typical of the Ray ouevre is the presence of several top-heavy young ladies, whose costumes can be mercifully described as immodest. The dinosaurs are rubber novelty-shop creations that wouldn't convince a dim-witted duck, but they serve their purpose in forcing the females in the cast to jiggle past the camera in abject horror. Ross Hagen, a veteran of this sort of fare, heads the cast of Dinosaur Island, doing an excellent job of convincing us that the dialogue he's been given is actually worth reciting. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
A black detective becomes embroiled in a web of danger while searching for a fortune in missing drug money in this action-comedy. Writer-director Keenan Ivory Wayans also stars as Los Angeles private eye Arthur Shame, a former cop whose troubled past resurfaces when a one-time colleague asks for help in a narcotic case. During the course of his investigation, he encounters various old connections, ultimately confronting the criminal responsible for Shame's expulsion from the force. He must also deal with two women, Angela, a beautiful old flame (Salli Richardson), and Peaches (Jada Pinkett), his energetic but annoying sidekick. Unlike Wayans' blaxploitation parody I'm Gonna Get You Sucka, A Low Down Dirty Shame sticks more closely to genre conventions, lightening the action with wisecracks and standard comic interludes. ~ Judd Blaise, All Movie Guide

A handful of brave survivors must contend with an unusual sort of post-apocalyptic crisis in this science fiction drama. The earth has been decimated in the wake of World War III; while massive thermonuclear attacks wiped out most of the major cities, an experimental biological weapon was released that spread two artificial viruses, one of which would infect men and another which would infect women. When the two viruses are brought together during sexual intercourse, the result is instant and painful death for both parties, and the deadly spread of this weapon has meant that humanity as we know it is doomed to eventual extinction. However, Calloway (Richard Lynch), the leader of a battalion of all-male ravagers who plunder the post-nuke plains for whatever they can find, discovers a community where men, women, and children are actually living together in something resembling civilization. It seems that a scientist was able to develop a serum that rendered the twin viruses harmless; however, the inventor is killed as Calloway and his men raid the village. The inventor's son, Joe Knight (Bryan Genesee), survives, and he must learn the secrets to his father's formula. He gets some unexpected help from McCabe (James Brolin), a renegade peacekeeper on the run from Calloway, and Shara (Kehli O'Byrne), who with McCabe is eager to discover the formula for the serum and begin repopulating the world. Roger Corman served as executive producer for this project. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Hybrid was directed by B-movie cult hero Fred Olen Ray. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
Surrender Cinema is Full Moon Entertainment's outlet for unrated sexploitation films, which somehow makes it different from the same company's old Torchlight label, although it's not quite obvious how. This naughty little number -- part of a veritable market flood by Surrender -- is a skin-saturated variation on the Sleeping Beauty legend, dealing with three young women who are imprisoned by a gypsy in a castle belonging to Lord Isherwood (Robert Donovan). He became engaged to all three, but the gypsy wants him and his wealth for herself, so she casts a sleep spell on the women after they all have sex with Isherwood at once and kill him with "kindness." A hundred years go by, and the action shifts to the present, where a young couple, Chip and Judy (Jon-Damon Charles, Michelle Hall), visit the castle with Judy's brother, Eddie, and friend, Francine. Judy and Eddie are Isherwoods, and both dreamed of the castle before inheriting it. When they arrive, both are tormented by visions and have a great deal of sex, before Eddie wakes the beauties and the gang somehow finds time to reclaim the castle for the Isherwood siblings. Director Sam Silver appeared as an actor in 1995's Bikini Drive-In, which also featured this film's frequently naked gypsy, Nikki Fritz. ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide

You just can't keep a good demoness down, and the same beastie causing all the commotion in The Bare Wench Project comes back to cause more trouble in this sequel. Four college co-eds were lost in the woods while doing a search on the local legend the Bare Wench; they were never seen again, and Nikki (Nikki Fritz), whose twin sister (also known as Nikki -- apparently Mom and Dad had other things on their mind) was lost, organizes a search party to find them. However, it isn't long before Nikki and friends also encounter the dreaded Bare Wench (Julie Strain), and before you know it frightened naked women are making their way through the woods like squirrels from a rifle shot. Also released as The Bare Wench Project 2: Scared Topless, Book of Babes: Bare Wench 2 also stars Griffin Drew, Samantha Phillips, and Lenny Juliano. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
