The German made-for-TV drama Die Hoffnung Stirbt Zuletzt (Final Hope) was originally shot on 16 mm and directed by Marc Rothemud. Enthusiastic country girl Corinna Safranski (Anneke Kim Sarnau) goes to the city when she gets accepted to join the Hamburg Police. She encounters much adversity from her male colleagues and from her boss, Eddy Garbitsch (Axel Prahl). Fellow cop Jens (Wotan Wilke Moehring) starts out as a jerk, but eventually softens up. Peter R. Hunt directed this World War I action-adventure, based upon the novel by Wilbur Smith. Roger Moore and Lee Marvin team up as Sebastian, a witty and cosmopolitan Englishman, and Flynn O'Flynn, a boozy and ornery Irish American, who decide to blow up a German battleship that has been hidden away for repairs in Southeast Africa. Love starved women flock to the male brothel known as the "yellow house." Run by a retired military man, the General keeps strict rules for the studs in his corral. No unwanted pregnancies, and absolutely no falling in love with the female clientele. On of the young men of the brothel falls for a pretty young woman outside the yellow house. Comedy ensues when the woman turns out to be the daughter of the rigid General.
