As originally produced for and aired on the BBC in 2008, this feature stars Sean Bean (Troy) as Richard Sharpe, a Lieutenant Colonel in India circa 1818 - the era of British Colonialism. He's journeying across the country alongside colleague Sergeant Major Patrick Harper (Daragh O'Malley), on a mission to co-escort the gorgeous Marie-Angelique Bonnet (Beatrice Rosen) to meet her fiancé. Unfortunately, this means trekking across deadly badlands, rife with hundreds of bandits. In the process, Richard, Patrick and Marie-Angelique run into a ragged, motley group of soldiers led by a man named Beauclaire (Luke Ward-Wilkinson) , and Sharpe must help deliver its men from the clutches of the evil bandit Chitu (Ulhad Tayas) to the safe arms of the next army garrison. What Sharpe doesn't realize is that he's on the verge of discovering one of the largest opium-trafficking operations in India. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

A mild-mannered banker finds himself living out his wildest dreams, only to wake up to a major dilemma in a continent-hopping comedy. Raymond (Hugh Laurie) is a British bank clerk who doesn't much care for his job, and whose marriage to Cathy (Lia Williams) has hit a rut. It would appear Cathy feels the same way about their relationship, since she's been fooling around on the side with Raymond's boss, Strothers (Patrick Barlow). Raymond's one escape from his dreary life comes from his part-time job as a dance instructor, and he often fantasizes about Orlinda (Vanessa Nunes), a beautiful and famous dancer from Brazil. One day, Raymond discovers that Cathy has finally left him to run away with Strothers, and Raymond snaps; he embezzles a fortune from the bank, and hops on the first plane for Rio, where with the help of taxi driver Paulo (Santiago Segura), he finds the lovely Orlinda, and to his amazement ends up spending the night with her. The next morning finds Raymond in a more stable frame of mind, and he decides he should return the money to the bank, but when he discovers Orlinda is gone, he realizes she took the embezzled funds with her, and now he has to find her and recover the money before it's too late. Santiago Segura is a major comedy star in Latin America, but he was cast somewhat against type in this film, since he's not Brazilian, but a Spaniard. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

In this historical drama produced for television, Richard Sharpe (Sean Bean) is an officer in the British Army who has his own way of doing things, but has risen to a rank of power thanks to his bravery and steely intelligence under fire. Sharpe is a Captain of the Battalion of South Essex, a platoon of inexperienced soldiers Sharpe is trying to mold into an efficient fighting force. Much to Sharpe's annoyance, South Essex looses an important battle thanks to the incompetence of Sir Henry Simmerson (Michael Cochrane), and their regimental flag and standard is stolen from them by French forces. The same battle took the life of one of Sharpe's closest friends, so now he's determined to get his revenge by taking from the French their prized standard, a golden eagle. Sharpe's Eagle also features Assumpta Serna as Teresa, a feared Spanish terrorist who is also Sharpe's lover, and Katia Caballero as Josephina, a widow of Sharpe's acquaintance. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
