Personifying the type of teen spirit most commonly found in Noxzema ads and pep-squad meets, actress Jennifer Love Hewitt has brought new meaning to the word "effervescent." The '90s saw Hewitt go from relative obscurity to a bona fide teen queen, to say nothing of one of the most frequently enshrined actresses on the internet.Hewitt was born on February 21, 1979, in Waco, TX. She made her first appearance on television in 1984 in the show Kids Incorporated (which, coincidentally, once guest-starred Scott Wolf, her Party of Five co-star). She also did a multitude of commercials, even doing a stint as an L.A. Gear spokesgirl at the age of ten. After spending the majority of the '80s working in television, Hewitt got her first film role in the 1993 film Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit, but it wasn't until she got her big break as Sarah Reeves on Party of Five (1994) that she began to gain recognition. More recognition came first in the form of Trojan War (1997) and then I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997). The film, which capitalized on the growing trend in teen horror flicks catalyzed by Wes Craven's Scream (1996), proved to be immensely popular among audiences, if not critics; it was predictably followed by a sequel, the aptly titled I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998). In addition to her film work, which also included 1998's Can't Hardly Wait, Hewitt maintained her role in Party of Five and continued to star in commercials, most notably as the Neutrogena spokesgirl, as well as headlining her own Fox series, Time of Your Life, in which her Party of Five character, Sarah Reeves, moves to New York to look for her father.
Affectionately known as Love by family and friends, Hewitt has had moderate success as a pop singer, as well as on the big screen. She made her American musical debut in 1995 with the release of Lets Go Bang, and could also be heard singing two tracks for the House Arrest (1996) soundtrack in addition to playing a lead role in the film itself. Can't Hardly Wait, a 1998 teen movie which featured Hewitt as the girl du jour, made enough of a splash in the genre to be parodied in 2002's Not Another Teen Movie. In 2000, Hewitt received some critical acclaim for her portrayal of Audrey Hepburn in The Audrey Hepburn Story, a made-for-television dramatization of Hepburn's life. The next year, Hewitt starred opposite Alien queen Sigourney Weaver in Heartbreakers, which featured the two actresses as mother-and-daughter con artists.
The year 2002 brought Hewitt the opportunity to star opposite martial-arts favorite Jackie Chan in The Tuxedo, though the movie would tank among critics and audiences alike. After lending her vocal chords to a series of animated roles (The Adventures of Tom Thumb and Thumbelina [2002], Groove Squad [2003], and The Hunchback of Notre Dame II [2001]), Hewitt wouldn't return to a major theatrical role until 2004. She is scheduled to work with Val Kilmer in Marc F. Adler's Delgo, as well as play lead roles in Gil Junger's If Only and in the much anticipated 2004 adaptation of Garfield starring Bill Murray. A return to the small screen as a newlywed medium with the supernatural ability to communicate with the recently departed in Ghost Whisperer earned Hewitt a Saturn nomination for best actress in 2006, and later that same year it was once again time for a battle of wills with everyone's favorite lasagne-loving cat in the family fun sequel Garfiend: A Tale of Two Kitties. ~ Rebecca Flint Marx, All Movie Guide

Boy Meets World takes a break from several weeks' worth of angst over the romance between Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) with this wild-and-wooly takeoff of the popular horror flick Scream (which was something of a takeoff itself). While Cory (Ben Savage) and his friends are serving weekend detention, a shrouded killer begins picking the students off one by one. Everyone panics but Shawn (Rider Strong), who has seen enough scary movies to figure out what will happen next--at least until Mr. Feeny (William Daniels) turns up murdered as well! After the Huntington Hills High graduation ceremony, the fun gets underway at the graduation party where an assortment of jocks, geeks, prom queens, bimbos, headbangers, and nerdy misfits unload four years' worth of emotional baggage at a house where the hostess (Michelle Brookhurst) loses control of her guests. Writer wannabe Preston Meyers (Ethan Embry) has been in love with Amanda (Jennifer Love Hewitt of Party of Five) since the first time he saw her during their freshman year. His tormented infatuation with Amanda has intensified throughout high school and culminates at the party, where Preston must now seize this final opportunity to proclaim his love for her before he leaves the next day for Boston. Preston decides to make his move at some point during the party, a particularly auspicious occasion since Amanda has just been dumped by her super-jock boyfriend, Mike Dexter (Peter Facinelli), who wanted freedom to pursue his testosterone-charged fantasies with college women. Cringing at this ludicrous love triangle is Preston's introverted pal and confidante, Denise Fleming (Lauren Ambrose). When Denise runs into her ex-childhood friend Kenny (Seth Green), the two begin sexual experimentation behind the closed bathroom door. Geeky science-fiction fan William Lichter (Charlie Korsmo) devises a plan to ruin Mike's stud reputation and publicly humiliate him and his meathead buddies -- sweet revenge for four years of agony. Former Huntington Hills graduate Trip McNieley (Jerry O'Connell) tells Mike about the terror awaiting in college where "Guys like us are a dime a dozen." Yearbook Girl (Melissa Joan Hart of Sabrina, the Teenage Witch) wants everyone to sign her cherished volume of memories as the partying teens attempt to move into the uncertain future. Party house exteriors were shot on Rubio Street in Altadena, California, and other California locations included Johnnie's Broiler in downtown Downey, Dutton's Book Store in Reseda, Marshall High School in Los Feliz, and Union Station in LA. Differentiating this TV-movie version of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol from the hundreds of other adaptations of the same Yuletide classic is its tongue-in-cheek ambience and a bundle of memorable tunes by perennial Disney composer Alan Menken and former Schoolhouse Rock lyricist Lynn Ahrens. Inspired by a stage musical which used to be presented annually at New York's Madison Square Garden, this Christmas Carol stars Kelsey Grammer as tight-fisted Ebenezer Scrooge, who sees the errors of his ways just in time to oversee the "best Christmas ever" for his long-suffering clerk Bob Cratchit (Edward Gower) and "God Bless Us Everyone" Tiny Tim (Jacob Moriarty). On this occasion, the spirits materializing for Scrooge's benefit include Jason Alexander as a neurotic Jacob Marley, Jesse L. Martin as a laid-back Ghost of Christmas Present, Jane Krakowski as a sexy Ghost of Christmas Past, and Geraldine Chaplin as a spooky Ghost of Christmas Future (in Wizard of Oz tradition, three of these four actors also appear as "real" people in Scrooge's everyday life). Highlights include the song "Link by Link," wherein the ghostly Marley and a chorus of wraiths perform a lively ball-and-chain dance number, and the outsized Christmas celebration in the home of Scrooge's first boss, Mr. Fezziwig (Brian Bedford), which features among other things a "pole dance" by the Ghost of Christmas Past! At CostMart, Lois (voice of Alex Borstein) runs into Ross Fishman (voice of Chris Cox), an old flame. They're both married now, but Ross suggests they get together for coffee. Stewie (voice of Seth MacFarlane) sets out to eat some industrial adhesive, and when Brian (MacFarlane) tries to stop him, the two end up stuck holding hands together. Back at home, Lois, knowing how jealous Peter can be, frets about whether or not to meet with Ross. Brian and Stewie learn that it will take two weeks for the glue manufacturer to send over a solvent to unstick them. Unfortunately for Lois, Joe (voice of Patrick Warburton) takes the gang out in his new police surveillance van the same night she decides to meet with Ross. Peter catches them together, and decides to look up all of his old girlfriends (including Peppermint Patty from Peanuts) in retaliation. He has little success, and the couple ends up going for counseling. The marriage counselor has surveillance cameras installed throughout the house, and after seeing the results, recommends that Peter and Lois undergo a trial separation and see other people. The laziest cat in America swaps places with the richest feline in England in director Tim Hill's lasagna-laden sequel to the 2004 theatrical hit Garfield. The trouble is, Prince has decided it's due time for a vacation, and with Garfield in charge there's no telling what kind of trouble will befall Castle Carlyle. Despite having a devoted butler named Smithee (Ian Abercrombie) to cater to his every whim and a whole host of fun-loving critters with whom to pass the lazy days spent lounging in the sun, this crowned head begins to feel the sting of deceit as the envious Lord Dargis (Billy Connolly) hatches a dastardly plan to do away with the whiskered heir and claim Castle Carlyle all to himself. Jim Davis' famous cartoon cat finally makes his way to the big screen in this adaptation of the popular comic strip Garfield, which combines live action with CGI animation. Jon Arbuckle (Breckin Meyer) is a sweet, if somewhat clueless, man who shares his home with his pet cat, Garfield (voice of Bill Murray). Garfield is not your ordinary tabby -- he's fat, he's smart-mouthed, he's arrogant, he won't do anything he doesn't have to, and would rather stuff himself with lasagna than do something Jon asks of him. Despite this, Jon loves his cat, but when he decides to expand his animal family, Garfield is less than enthusiastic about the presence of Odie, a lovably enthusiastic dog whose only flaw is his extreme stupidity. While Jon is crazy for Odie, and especially likes having two pets that necessitate periodic visits to Dr. Liz Wilson (Jennifer Love Hewitt), a veterinarian he has a crush on, Garfield decides to remove Odie from the picture. Garfield arranges for Odie to become the property of Happy Chapman (Stephen Tobolowsky), a television host who acts like an animal lover on the round-cornered screen but doesn't much like pets on his own time. While Garfield at first enjoys ruling the roost again, he soon realizes the error of his ways, and in a rare example of selfless and ambitious behavior, hatches a plan to rescue Odie from Chapman. Not dissimilar to the earlier "other-worldly" series Medium, Ghost Whisperer starred Jennifer Love Hewitt as Melinda Gordon, the recently married co-owner of a small antiques shop. By accident, Melinda discovered that she was possessed of a rare gift: the ability to communicate with dead people and pass on their words to the living. Evidently, her purpose in life was to take care of the issues and problems left unresolved when her "clients" had shuffled off their mortal coils. While Melinda's friend and business partner Andrea Moreno (Aisha Tyler) was fascinated by this phenomenon, Melinda's new husband, Jim Clancy (David Conrad), was less enthused; after all, he was a paramedic, and did not relish losing his patients just so they could converse with his wife! The weekly, hour-long series was executive-produced by real-life medium James Van Praagh, who based the premise on the exploits of professional "ghost-buster" Mary Ann Winkowski -- who in turn served as the series' technical consultant. After the little white lies of Romy and Michele's High School Reunion (1997), director David Mirkin focuses on scheming of a different sort in Heartbreakers. (In the original Lois Duncan novel, the teens hit a small boy on a bicycle instead of a fisherman.) I Know What You Did Last Summer was one of the two teenaged horror movies responsible for bringing the horror genre into the 90's (the other being Wes Craven's Scream). Both of those films came from the pen of screenwriter Kevin Williamson, and both of them generated sequels. I Still Know What You Did Last Summer is the continuation of Julie James (Jennifer Love Hewitt), a tortured college co-ed who accidentally almost killed a man and left him for dead one night. One year later, that man, named Ben Willis, came back to kill all of Julie's friends. Now, another year later, she still suffers from nightmares over the horrible incidents. When Julie's roommate Kate (Brandy) wins an all-expenses paid trip to the Bahamas on a radio promotion by guessing the capital of Brazil, she decides to take her roommate Julie, her boyfriend (Mekhi Phifer), and their new friend (Matthew Settle) on the retreat. Once there, they discover that besides being the rainy season, they were also followed by Julie's nemesis who is still seeking revenge. Slowly the islanders turn up murdered, leaving Julie no choice but to explain her past actions to her friends and fight to stay alive. As Season Two of Party of Five gets under way, 25-year-old Charlie Salinger (Matthew Fox), senior member of the Salinger family and the legal guardian of his four orphaned siblings, has become engaged to Kirsten Bennett (Paula Devicq), who'd originally been hired as nanny for the youngest Salinger kids. Unfortunately, both Charlie and Kirsten chicken out, and they split up on the eve of their much-anticipated wedding. Charlie then enters into an affair with the hot-tempered Kathleen Eisely (Brenda Strong), who vengefully purchases the building housing the family's San Francisco restaurant and threatens to boot them out when Charlie breaks off the relationship. Meanwhile, 16-year-old Julia Salinger (Neve Campbell) is torn between her Season One boyfriend Justin (Michael Goorjian) and the new man in her life, the troubled Griffin Holbrook (Jeremy London). At the same time, Julia's 17-year-old brother Bailey (Scott Wolf) is dating the mercurial Sarah Reeves (Jennifer Love Hewitt), former girlfriend of Bailey's best pal Will (Scott Grimes). Halfway through Season Two, the series gets some "older adult" relief with the arrival of the Salinger's crusty maternal grandfather Jacob Gordon (Carroll O'Connor).
