A young woman gets a startling perspective on how the other half lives in this teen-oriented thriller. Adrien Williams (Lori Heuring) is a troubled working-class college student who on the advice of her doctor takes a summer job at a posh country club. Brittany Foster (Susan Ward) is one of a group of wealthy students who while away their summer break with nighttime parties and days at the beach. Brittany takes a liking to Adrien and introduces her to her social circle, to the displeasure of her close friend Kelly (Laurie Fortier). Adrien also gets to know Matt Curtis (Matthew Settle), a tennis pro with whom Brittany is infatuated; when Adrien and Matt begin a relationship, Adrien learns the hard way that the rich kids can quickly turn vengeful and deadly. In this story of obsessive and enduring love, David Lewis (Peter Gallagher) spends most of his time swimming, dancing, and frolicking on the beach with the spirit of his dead wife Gillian (Michelle Pfeiffer). After Gillian's drowning death, David made their summer cottage on Nantucket Island into a permanent home. He lives there with his teenage daughter Rachel (Claire Danes), who is being neglected because her father spends so much time with her dead mother's ghost. On the second anniversary of Gillian's death, over Labor Day weekend, he invites Gillian's sister Esther Wheeler (Kathy Baker) and Esther's husband Paul (Bruce Altman) for the weekend. David's in-laws bring with them a beautiful woman named Kevin Danford (Wendy Crewson), hoping that David's attentions will turn to her. But David ignores her and proceeds with his ritualistic celebration of Gillian's birthday, including a formal dinner, karaoke, and building sand castles. After Paul makes a pass at Rachel's young girlfriend, Esther and Paul re-examine their bickering marriage and find it paltry compared to David's overwhelming eternal passion. It's Fatal Attraction with a bit of gender and age fine-tuning in this made-for-TV melodrama. Bonnie Bedelia stars as Dr. Diane Weston, a professor in Shakespearean studies who has a brief fling with graduate student Jeff (Brian Austin Green). Once she has gotten over her attraction to Jeff, Diane tries to break off the romance, only to find out that he is obsessed with her. To win back Diane's "love", Jeff contrives to seduce the prof's daughter Tess (Gina Philips). And of course, when all else fails, things really get nasty (though no rabbits are boiled during the making of this picture)! Feeling low because their school radio show is being ignored by the students (especially the girl students), Cory (Ben Savage) and Shawn (Rider Strong) change their format to a spicy talkfest called "Lunchtime Lust." Not surprisingly, Mr. Feeny (William Daniels) deems the new format inappropriate and cancels the show--and when Mr. Turner (Anthony Tyler Quinn) tries to intervene in their behalf, the boys mess things up by launching a "pirate" radio station from the school janitor's closet! While delivering past-due book reports to the home of their teacher Mr. Turner (Anthony Tyler Quinn), Cory (Ben Savage) and Shawn (Rider Strong) stumble across Turner's class schedule, enabling them to determine when he plans to give the next pop quiz. As a result, the boys are able to cram for the quiz, which they pass with extremely high grades. It isn't long before Cory and Shawn begin suffering the pangs of conscience, but when they confess to Mr. Turner they're in for quite a suprirse. Meanwhile, school tough guys Frankie (Ethan Suplee) and Joey (Blake Sennett), leaderless since top bully Harley was sent to reform school, seek out a replacement so they can retain their "flunkey" status.
