In this comedy, a hapless Army sergeant's plans to marry are temporarily delayed after he accidentally ends up launched into space with a chimpanzee. Upon his return, he is a changed man and is ultimately sent to prison after he threatens to go public with the mix-up. Meanwhile, suave Sgt. Donovan, Deadhead's double, takes his place at the altar. To stop him, Deadhead breaks out of prison and becomes his old self again just as he arrives at the honeymoon suite. This drama, based on a true story, chronicles the exploits of a gorgeous Greek actress who decrees that she will marry the winner of the 26-mile marathon at the 1896 Olympic Games in Athens. It will be the first time the race has been run in 2,672 years. The actress does this because she is sure that her true-love will win. The real winner is a poor shepherd. In this war drama set during the Korean War, a grizzled GI must undertake a potentially suicidal mission. He decides not to waste his best soldiers and instead chooses from amongst his very worst. He then attempts to train them. His methods are harsh, and his men hate him. Secretly, they conspire to kill him and go AWOL as soon as possible. However, as soon as they cross enemy lines, they meet an injured American nun and her schoolgirls at the place they must blow up. Their hated, but experienced leader manages to help them all out of a potentially horrific situation thereby winning the respect of both the men and the young girls. The men become loyal to him. Only one remains rebellious. He attempts to rape one of the girls. Because the nun's injured leg grows worse, he allows the girls to take her to safety.
