Officers Pete Malloy (Martin Milner) and Jim Reed (Kent McCord) try to break up a gang of auto thieves who use pretty, miniskirted girls as decoys for unwary male drivers. Elsewhere, the two cops are summoned to a teenage pot party (this is, after all, a Jack Webb) production. And in another incident, Jim and Pete rescue a mugger from an angry old lady (Hope Summers) who turns the tables on the "perp" and beats him up. Former Leave It to Beaver costar Tony Dow has a sizeable supporting role in this episode. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Jim Killian (Glenn Ford) is a reformed gunslinger who takes a job as a local preacher in Vinagaroon, Arizona. He arrives during a time of conflict between shepherds and cattlemen who are engaged in a bloody range war. When Coke Beck (David Carradine) hangs a local Indian, the victim's daughter Leloopa (Barbara Hershey) enlists the help of Killian. He tries to mediate the conflict in a meeting between the rival factions, but a member of the congregation exposes him as an ex-convict. He also enlists the help of the heart-of-gold saloon-operator Madge (Carolyn Jones). Killian and the townsfolk, women included, organize a march to the watering hole -- the center of the controversy. The cattlemen approach and draw their guns in what could be a potentially violent confrontation. ~ Dan Pavlides, All Movie Guide

A murder investigation uncovers a plot that could destroy the world as we know it in this thriller. When a scientist doing research on nuclear weapons is murdered during a hospital stay, federal investigator Dave Pomeroy (Howard Duff) is called in to find out who killed him and why. With the help of Dr. Paula Stevens (Linda Cristal), the late scientist's assistant, Pomeroy learns that the scientist fell victim to a group of communist renegades whose members include two brilliant but unstable weapons experts, August Best (Nehemiah Persoff) and Myra Pryor (Anne Jeffreys).
