This sci-fi actioner is set in the year 2074. The story is framed by the war between the two international corporate giants, Pinwheel Robotics and Kobayashi, responsible for manufacturing the cyborgs that 21st century technology has become dependent upon. In fact, most of the world is being run by the sophisticated androids. The conflict turns violent when the Kobayashi cyborgs begin methodically killing their competition. To stop them, the head of Pinwheel, Martin Dunn, creates the perfect computer housed in the body of a beautiful woman. The cyborg, Casella Reese, has a strange fluid flowing within in her that when activated will cause her to literally explode should she have an orgasm; Dunn designed her to infiltrate Kobayashi and assassinate the CEO. The real problems begin when Casella, who is also equipped with human emotions and independent thought, falls in love with her martial arts teacher, Colt Ricks. When she learns of her upcoming suicide mission, she and Colt, with the help of their informer, the cyborg mercenary Mercy, try to reach Mombasa where unlicensed androids can live in peace. In this violent urban drama, an LA cop is deeply traumatized after he tries to save a child in a hostage situation and fails. He leaves the force and returns to his old gritty South Central neighborhood to help Rebecca Sanchez find her brother Carlos who has mysteriously disappeared shortly after a gang truce, between the African-American gang the Blades and the Latin Lords, begins disintegrating thanks to a number of drive-by shootings in either territory. The cop's investigation soon reveals that both gangs are being manipulated by a third party. Poor Carlos seems to hold the key and finds his life in grave danger. Television anchor Barry Barron (Elliott Gould) is killed after he becomes involved with a breaking story, but is raised as a zombie by a voodoo spell. Not quite the stumbling idiot that most of the undead are known for, Barron has to solve his own murder and uncover the story. Although the duplicitous Eudora confesses that she has stolen the notes for Jessica's latest novel, she denies that she tried to do her rival in with a poisoned apple--and even more emphatically denies murdering the detective who has trailed Eudora all the way to Cabot Cove. Alee (Rebecca Holden) and Vera (Barbara Hooper) lead the tribe across hostile territory to free their sisters held prisoner in the evil city. A syndicate of Los Angeles gangsters is kidnapping beautiful young women, drugging them, and forcing them to participate in the filming of pornographic movies. Sisters Cathy and Maryann Rogers (Claudia Christian, Suzanne Barnes) are the owners of a bottling plant which turns out an all-natural beverage called Hi-Bright soda. Evil beer magnate Jason Webb (Louis Giambalvo) uses strongarm tactics to pressure the sisters into converting their plant into a brewery, part of a larger scheme involving crooked banker-realtor Barrington (Jack Hogan). Figuring that the world doesn't need any more alcoholics, the A-Team comes to the rescue of the sisters, posing as the representatives of a phony ad agency in order to expose the villains' machinations. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

On the outskirts of Las Vegas, a gang of mercenaries called the Scorpions have been utilizing sophisticated commando tactics and high-tech weaponry to commit a series of minor crimes. Clearly, the Scorpions are merely rehearsing for Something Big--namely, the murder of their ex-comrade Al Driscoll (Robert Dryer),who has been taking into custody as a federal witness. Heather (Linnea Quigley), the deaf-mute sister of Brenda (Linda Blair) is gang-raped in a drawn-out, violent scene at the beginning of this routine vengeance movie, a scene that provides the motivation for Brenda's rampage through the rest of the film. Dressed in a special outfit that bares enough skin to suit the standards of this genre and armed with a crossbow, Brenda goes after the young punks in the "Scars" gang who raped her sister -- with predictably gory results. Surrounding this miniature Charles Bronson is a society burdened with parodies of "good" people: the school principal who is only superficially tough, and the upper-class teens whose thought processes were arrested shortly after kindergarten. Stereotypical and transparent, this teen movie is interesting because it does promote a woman in a "hero" role, but the subject matter and violence will not appeal to everyone. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide
