Invited to attend a party at an air base, Steed and Emma arrive to find the place deserted. Suddenly, Steed is knocked unconscious; when he awakens, the base is crowded with revellers, but Emma is nowhere to be found. Even more disconcerting is the "fact" that Steed has apparently gone back in time, and that he is now reliving the events of an hour ago. Adventures of Hal 5 was aimed directly at the British kiddie-matinee trade. The title "character" is an automobile owned by a middle-class family. A crooked garage owner tries to swipe the vehicle, but the kids in the family are too fast for the thief. Lots of "wacky" car chases here, but you probably caught on to that. Filmed in Surrey, England, Hell in Korea was shipped out to more conservative movie houses as A Hill in Korea. The title essentially tells all in this no-nonsense account of a group of UN soldiers during the Korean "police action" of the early 1950s. This "skeleton" patrol maintains its tenuous hold over a strategic hill, while determining the best method of sneaking into a communist-held village. While Korean veterans tended to dismiss the film as Hollywood-style hokum, Hell in Korea has stood the test of time far better than many other more elaborate "realistic" wartime dramas. The film, based on a novel by Max Catto, served as the movie debut of Michael Caine, who does not receive screen credit in the original prints--an oversight rectified in TV prints issued after Caine's rise to stardom. Love, marriage and show business provide the basis of this lively comedy that centers on a husband and wife, who are chosen by television producers to embody the perfect married couple on an upcoming television series. The show is to be filmed and broadcast live from the home of Simon and Laura, who on camera are indeed the perfect couple. Unfortunately, the minute the camera is off, the two are going at it hammer and tong. Still, their show is very popular, and many couples look up to them until the ill-fated shooting of a Christmas special in which the couple begin tippling alcoholic beverages during the filming and end up letting their true relationship come out. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
