Badger's Green, a barnstorming British theatrical piece by R. C. Sheriff, was given its first talking picture treatment in 1934. The resident of a tiny English village love their cricket field. A huge, impersonal corporation wants to tear down the field and build an office complex. The villagers stage a revolt, with humorous (though not hilarious) results. The perfect poisoning is the basis of this crime drama. So pleased is the killer by his own brilliant scheme, that he explains the whole thing to his victim who points out the one big flaw in the plan. The would-be killer is so distraught that the victim convinces him to take the poison himself. He does so and dies.
