Monk (Tony Shalhoub) and Sharona (Bitty Schram) pay a visit to the set of "Crime Lab S.F.", a popular TV show hosted by Brad Terry (Billy Burke). But this isn't a social call: Monk strongly suspects Brad of murdering his ex-wife Susan Malloy (Nicole Forester). Impossible, Brad insists: Susan was stabbed to death while Brad was arguing with a group of paparazzi--all of whom heard Susan's screams as she died. And if this wasn't an enough of an airtight alibi, Marci Maven (Sarah Silverman), Brad's obsessive "Number One Fan", has stepped forth to confess that SHE killed Susan! ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Three lifelong cheaters wise up in this gross-out college comedy, which marks the second feature role for Rushmore star Jason Schwartzman. It's the last semester of senior year for roomies Dave (Devon Sawa), Sam (Jason Segel), and Jeff (Michael C. Maronna), a trio of twenty-somethings whose enthusiasm for higher learning is matched only by their enthusiasm for root canals performed without the aid of anesthesia. As such, their entire collegiate existence has been an elaborate series of cons and scams designed to plagiarize essays, skip midterms, and covertly manipulate bell curves. When deranged geek Ethan (Schwartzman) -- who harbors a psychotic fixation for a flaxen-haired co-ed named Angela (James King) -- gets wind of their scheming, he blackmails Dave and the gang into contriving a date between him and his crush. But as Dave cozies up to Angela, he realizes that no amount of scheming can hide the fact that he's the one that's truly in love. Slackers went by a number of working titles while in production at the ill-fated upstart Destination Films; when Destination went belly-up, the film sat on the shelf for over a year before being picked up for release by Sony's Screen Gems division. ~ Michael Hastings, Rovi

Hoping to wreak vengeance against Dan Mattay (Jack Ging) , the football coach who made their lives miserable in high school, Joe (Tim Daly) and Brian (Steven Weber) cook up an elaborate and uniquely humiliating practical joke to pull on Mattay when he makes a return visit to Nantucket. Unfortunately, the boys unwittingly pull off their prank after the old guy has kicked the bucket. Without giving too much more of the plot away, let it be said that rumors of the late Mr. Mattay's "kinky" private life are spreading like wildfire after the Hackett boys have left their mark! ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

ALF lands a job as "alien world" reporter for the sleazy tabloid "National Inquisitor". Angered over the manner in which his stories are re-edited and distorted, ALF demands to meet the editor face to face. This proves to be a major mistake when the editor snaps a picture of ALF, forcing the Tanner family to go into "Mission: Impossible" mode to retrieve the photo. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
