This lively actioner was made to cash in on the skateboard mania of the mid 1970s. It is the story of a Hollywood agent who finds himself in deep trouble with a powerful bookie. Now he must come up with the cash he owes or face certain death. To make a fast buck, he creates a team of exceptionally talented skateboarders and enters them in a downhill race. Inveterate gambler Sheridan (played by Ed Gardner of Duffy's Tavern fame) is convinced that his recent streak of luck is due to the power of prayer. Accordingly, Sheridan contributes heavily to the church-repair fund of neighborhood priest Father Amian (Claude Rains). Hoping to further extend his generosity, Gardner tips the father off to a "sure thing" in an upcoming race -- and against his better judgment, Father Amian hands over 500 dollars in church funds for Gardner to bet at the track. Although storekeeper Mrs. Gruber (Jesslyn Fax) has purchased a gun for protection, she finds herself incapable of pulling the trigger when she is robbed by a teenager named Jimmy Philips (Bob Paget). Not so timorous is Mrs. Gruber's customer Gerald R. Clarke (George Nader), who grabs the gun, chases Jimmy down, and shoots the boy to death -- managing to avoid arrest himself by claiming "self-defense." Robert Horton took time off from his Wagon Train schedule to appear in this episode. Horton is cast as Brad Taylor, a man torn between two women. Brad would like to marry wealthy Janice Wright (Joyce Meadows), but his other girlfriend, Leslie Lenox (Fay Spain), refuses to break off their relationship. In desperation, Brad kills Leslie -- then is astonished by how quickly the police show up at his apartment to charge him with murder, especially since they couldn't possibly have found Leslie's body in so short a time. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Afraid to tell his pregnant wife, Francie (Joyce Meadows), that he has lost his entire 80-dollar paycheck in a poker game, stock clerk Irving Randall (John Smith) concocts a story about being mugged and robbed on his way home. As a "convincer" for his wife, Irving goes so far as to report the faux robbery to the police.
