The title character in this weekly, half-hour Nickelodeon cable network cartoon series was Jenny (Janice Kawaye), a six-foot-tall female android created by a mom-and-dad team of mad scientists. Jenny wanted to be a regular teen and fit in with her high school crowd, but could never stray too far from her avowed mission of protecting Earth from various villains -- foreign, domestic, and intergallactic. Aided and abetted Jenny from time to time was her next-door neighbor and erstwhile boyfriend, Brad (Chad Doreck). Gary Cole and Shelley Long are back as Mike and Carol Brady, America's favorite squares, with a whole new crop of youngsters cast as the six Brady kids. As a reward for returning a $67,000,000 lottery ticket to its rightful owner, Mike is invited to meet the President at the White House. Through a series of dizzying and absolutely nonsensical plot twists, the proper-and-permed Mr. Brady ends up sworn in as Chief Executive of the United States. In this capacity, Mike and the Brady kids manage to save the government from a devastating scandal, while perky Carol Brady caters State dinners and imposes "time outs" on obstreperous members of the Press. Just before taking medical leave, Gibson (John F. O'Donohue) arranges for Andy (Dennis Franz) to moonlight as the bodyguard for a wealthy -- and very dotty -- old woman named Mrs. Hornby (Elmarie Wendel). In other developments, gay cop John Irvin (Bill Brochtrup) makes a new friend while investigating the theft of some valuable English bulldog puppies, and the squad investigates reports of recent INS screw-ups. Jacqueline Obradors joins the cast as Det. Rita Ortiz, the wife of Assistant DA Don Harrison, who at her husband's insistence is transferred out of Vice and into the 15th precinct, where she is immediately partnered with Det. It is Halloween, and things get pretty scary in a hurry when a young man named Lonnie (Titus Welliver) tries to kill himself--just after recognizing Andrew (John Dye as the Angel of Death. It turns out that Lonnie is suffering from Multiple Personality Syndrome, and that he was pushed to the brink of death by his "other self" Gregory. Lonnie's longtime friend Duncan (Casey Briggs) tells Andrew of the terrible trauma suffered by the unfortunate man, stemming from a long-ago Halloween prank that went tragically awry. But this is far more than a case of mental imbalance: Lonnie's alter ego Gregory happens to be an emissary of Satan! ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
The leading lady of the Christmas tale knows just what she wants for Christmas and she lets Macy's Santa know, too. She wants nothing more than the reuniting of her recently divorced parents. Bordering on being a Miracle on 34th Street re-make, this film follows much the same theme, but the kids here get more involved as they thwart any likelihood of romantic success between their mom and her new boyfriend and try ever-so-hard to make Mommy and Daddy love each other again. A reunion does result, but it's a lackluster one and so's this film, which was generally seen as a little too contrived and way too bland. ~ All Movie Guide
