Actor Danny Pintauro first made an impression with audiences as the terrified little boy in the 1983 horror film Cujo. The wide-eyed, blond-haired boy next found his niche on the popular sitcom Who's the Boss?, on which he played the role of Jonathan. After the series ended in 1992, Pintauro initially had trouble finding roles as an adult actor, but after taking time off to study English and theater at Middlesex County College in Edison, NJ, and Stanford University, he found a successful career on the stage, starring in productions such as The Velocity of Gary. ~ Cammila Albertson, Rovi- 1990
Good thing they told us this Jury Duty: The Comedy; we might have thought it was Jury Duty: The Term Paper. This comedy salad features a whole slew of TV luminaries--Alan Thicke, Bill Kirchenbauer, Lynn Redgrave, Heather Locklear, Tracy Scoggin, Reginald VelJohnson etc.--playing judge, jury, defenders and prosecutors in an embezzlement case. The clue as to the film's sobriety level is the fact that Bronson Pinchot plays four roles: Sanford, Arthur Lloyd, Jorge Jimenez, and Magda. Highlights include a mid-trial pizza delivery, a faulty oxygen tank, and a kid holding up a "Hi Mom" sign for the benefit of the courtroom cameras. The "history is inviolate" theory so chillingly elucidated in Ray Bradbury's The Sound of Thunder is recycled for the made-for-TV Timestalkers. William Devane plays a genially eccentric professor who teams with time traveller Lauren Hutton to prevent the course of history from being disastrously altered. In a manner slightly reminiscent of the 1984 movie hit The Terminator, Devane and Hutton must deal with Klaus Kinski, a mad scientist from the 26th century, who plans to hopscotch through time, spreading death and destruction wherever he goes. The odyssey takes the main characters to all manner of locales, including the Old West. Reportedly made for television, The Beniker Gang seems to have "busted pilot" emblazoned on its forehead. The titular gang consists of five orphaned siblings. Andrew McCarthy, the eldest of the bunch, acts as surrogate parent. When he's not around, the rest of the kids look out for each other. Based on a Stephen King novel, Cujo is not as menacing or as frightening as other film adaptations of King's popular stories and especially cannot compare to the 1976 Carrie. Cujo is a happy St. Bernard until he is bitten on the nose by a rabid bat and slowly begins manifesting the symptoms of his fatal illness. His condition deteriorates as he attacks people again and again, until finally, mom Donna Trenton (Dee Wallace) and her son Tad (Danny Pintauro) are trapped inside the family car with Cujo lurking nearby, set to kill them any way he can.
