A woman in love with music finds herself trapped between a husband jealous of her success and a brother-in-law with a deadly secret in this independent thriller. Lucian (Andrew Borba) is a talented but arrogantly self-important musician and composer who has recently released an album in collaboration with his wife, a free-spirited violinist and singer named Gypsy (Annunziata Gianzero). While the album has become a critical and commercial success, Lucian is unhappy with the fact that many have credited Gypsy with the album's popularity and Gypsy has already been booked for a lucrative solo tour. As Lucian and Gypsy sort out their personal and professional differences, his half-brother, Jimmy (Thomas Jay Ryan), stops by to pay Lucian a visit. Lucian and Jimmy don't always get along, and Gypsy tries to bridge the gulf between them, striking up a rapport with the moody Jimmy. What Lucian and Gypsy don't know is that shortly before arriving at their Cape Cod home, Jimmy murdered his girlfriend and dumped her body in the ocean, and when it's discovered the next day, a local police detective, Dunbarton (Richard Bakalyan) comes by asking questions. A local eccentric known as The Beachcomber (Rick Wessler) is quickly charged with the crime, as Dunbarton, convinced the killer will strike again, wants the matter taken care of as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Jimmy finds himself increasingly attracted to his sister-in-law, while Gypsy, despite the tensions between herself and Lucian, isn't ready to leave him just yet, a decision that unknowingly puts her in grave danger. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Embracing the supposed nihilism and cynicism of the "slacker" generation, S.F.W. (1995) caused nary a blip on the media-saturated cultural radar screen that it criticized. Stephen Dorff stars as Cliff Spab, an aimless, hard-drinking youth. Spab becomes a national hero when he is one of several people held hostage by gun-toting terrorists in a convenience store. He doesn't care much about his own life or anything else, and his attitude of "So f---ing what?" translates into debates with his terrorist captors and gloomy pronouncements that charm viewers. After a month-long siege, a crisis erupts when the store runs out of beer and junk food, so Cliff finds himself a free man whose celebrity image is emblazoned on t-shirts and whose presence is requested at a rock concert where he is required to do nothing other than appear. In the meantime, Spab's girlfriend Wendy (Reese Witherspoon) becomes a ubiquitous talk show guest. Ostensibly a satire of the celebrity-obsessed culture of the 1990s, the film was withheld from distribution for a year because of thematic similarities to Oliver Stone's Natural Born Killers (1994). ~ Karl Williams, All Movie Guide

Harrison plays a lawyer defending a teenager (Chris Young) accused of murdering his father. As the boy details a lengthy history of abuse at the hands of his father, Harrison flashes back to his own miserable childhood. Zimbalist costars as Harrison's law partner (and former lover), who must not only contend with mounting an adequate defense for their client, but also must come to grips with her bitter childhood memories. The acronymic B.R.A.T. Patrol originally aired as a 2-hour entry on The Disney Sunday Movie. The appropriately named title characters are the children of a group of Marine non-coms. Running roughshod around a UMC base, the "patrol's" reputation is so bad that no one believes the kids' story about overhearing a plot to steal valuable government equipment. In true Disney fashion, the kids take on the baddies themselves. Sean Astin is cast as the head BRAT, while Brian Keith (the ostensible "star," though he's billed fifth) does his usually over-loud overacting as the General. The B.R.A.T.
