Not to be confused with Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D, the Brendan Fraser adventure that was released into theaters the same year, this made-for-cable take on Jules Verne's classic tale stars Golden Globe winner Rick Schroder as the leader of a treacherous mission miles below the Earth's surface. Famed anthropologist Jonathan Brock (Schroder) has just accepted the most dangerous -- and exciting -- assignment of his entire career. Four years ago, Edward Dennison (Peter Fonda) -- husband of wealthy Martha Dennison (Victoria Pratt) -- mysteriously vanished while embarking on an expedition to the planet's core. Martha has never gotten over her husband's disappearance, and she's willing to pay Jonathan whatever it takes to locate the missing Edward. When Kahn Xin (Lim Kay Tong) and his murderous henchmen kill White Crane's mentor during a brutal raid on the Wudang temple, Crane infiltrates the Shainghai underworld on a mission to track Kahn down and ensure that justice is served. But during the course of his quest, Crane crosses paths with Jane Marshall (Hannah), a nightclub singer from Manhattan who also has a score to settle with Kahn. Kahn has kidnapped Jane's brother and the time to rescue him is fast running out. When Crane and Jane realize Kahn's diabolical plans are in fact much more ambitious and malevolent than previously suspected, they hatch a daring plan to enter his inner circle and destroy his gang from the inside out. A small time con artist and his loyal companion must fight to prove their innocent when they are accused of attempting to poison a princess in this adventure mini-series directed by David Wu (The Bride with White Hair) and starring David Carradine. D.B. (John Reardon) was abandoned at birth on the docks of Shanghai, but while most children never would have survived that traumatic start David was rescued from certain death and soon forged a close bond with the resourceful Bird (Carradine). As D.B. grew into a young man, Bird became his constant companion. It always seemed like there was no jam that D.B. and Bird couldn't eventually work their way out of, and when it came to swindling this cunning pair were always at the top of their game. Neither D.B. nor Bird would have ever imagined that one of their brash schemes that would ultimately change the course of their entire lives, yet a daring mission to steal the royal court's jewels did precisely that. Upon carrying out the potentially profitable but highly dangerous mission, D.B. fell desperately in love with the stunning princess Li Wei (Desiree Siahaan). Though his affections were indeed reciprocated, it began to look like their love was doomed as the princess' father attempted to find her a more suitable husband. The princess, however, thwarted this plan by challenging her suitors to a series of arduous and impossible tests ostensibly staged to prove their love for her. The made-for-cable The Colt takes place in Virginia in the fourth year of the Civil War. The mare owned by young Jim Rabb (Ryan Merriman) of the First Michigan Cavalry gives birth to a colt, which battle-weary Sgt. Longacre (Steve Bacic) orders Jim to shoot so as not to slow down the other soldiers in the unit. Jim refuses to do so, risking severe disciplinary action. As it turns out, the Confederates strike before Longacre does, stealing both colt and mare. Again defying orders, Jim heads out alone to rescue his beloved horses, saving the life of a dying Rebel prisoner along the way. Ultimately, the colt proves to be an inspiration to Jim's comrades in arms, and is duly immortalized by another member of the First Michigan, army artist Covington (Darcy Belsher). On the eve of his wedding, medieval Prince John (Sean Maguire), known as "Prince Charming" to his friends, is caught in a compromising situation with an alleged damsel in distress. As punishment for his indiscretion, John and his lackey Rodney (Martin Short), a wannabe wizard, are subjected to a "frogging" -- that is, they are transformed into frogs, and doomed to remain that way forever unless John can persuade a beautiful maiden to give him a kiss. Through a wrinkle in time, the amphibious John and Rodney find themselves in 21st century Manhattan, where, miraculously, our heroes are restored to their human selves when John is kissed by a flamboyant actress named Margo (Bernadette Peters). But there's still one more proviso to the frogging curse: In order to remain a human, John must get Margo to marry him. Alas, John isn't in love with Margo, but instead is enamored of a young lady named Kate (Christina Applegate) -- the living image of the Prince's long-ago sweetheart Princess Gwendolyn (also Christina Applegate). Meanwhile, Rodney has issues with his own lady love, Margo's wardrobe mistress Serena (Andrea Martin). But Bentley is not the friend of the law that he seems to be; several of the wealthiest families in America send their children to Shady Glen, and Bentley has a scheme to kidnap ten of the school's richest children and hold them for a ransom of $650 million. A provocative drama about sex, love, and trust, Bliss concerns Joseph (Craig Sheffer) and Maria (Sheryl Lee), a young married couple whose relationship is in serious trouble. While they love each other, Maria has difficulty opening up to Joseph, and, after six months of marriage, he makes the unhappy discovery that she's been unable to have an orgasm with him (though she's been willing to let him think otherwise). At work, Joseph and his co-workers notice a steady stream of beautiful women visiting an apartment across the street; the scuttlebutt around the office is that some sort of shady sex therapist works out of the building. One day, Joseph is shocked to see Maria visiting the apartment, and he bursts in and demands to know what's happening. The apartment does indeed house an unlicensed sex therapist, who goes by the name of Balthazar (Terence Stamp), and, before long, Joseph realizes that Balthazar's teaching are about the mind as much as the body, and that he's less concerned with orgasm than with "bliss," which he considers an emotional and spiritual as well as physical state. Before long, Joseph has convinced Balthazar to teach him what he knows about tantric healing and sex, in the hope that he can help heal Maria's emotional scars, as well as help himself become a better man. Olivia Newton-John stars in this sentimental TV movie as Julia Stonecypher, an impoverished widow with two daughters. Living in a remote mountain cabin, Julia relies upon the meager income received from the cakes she bakes for the local townsfolk. Unfortunately, it isn't quite enough to pay the mortgage, and just before Christmas straight-laced bank manager Brian Harding (Gregory Harrison) shows up at Julia's doorstep, announcing that he'll be forced to foreclose on her. Startled by Julia's violent reaction, Brian rushes away from her house, only to be involved in a car accident. With a snowstorm fast approaching, Julia takes the injured Brian to her house to take care of him. Forced by the bad weather to remain longer than expected, Brian inevitably falls in love with Julia -- but will romance supersede his financial responsibilities? In addition to heading the cast, Olivia Newton-John also sings the opening song "The Way of Love."
