While Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) and Ramon (Joaquim de Almeida) go after Nina (Sarah Clarke), Claudia (Vanessa Ferlito) helps Chase (James Badge Dale) escape. Chase manages to get away, and arranges for a Delta team to pick him up, but Claudia is shot as they drive off. When Amador (Greg Ellis) goes to get the virus for Nina, Jack makes his move, dispatching a couple of her men. But then he gets distracted, and Nina gets the jump on him. Jack desperately offers her a lot of money in hopes of convincing her not to kill him, but she can't believe he's betrayed his country. Back at CTU, Chappelle (Paul Schulze) catches Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub) hiding an infant under her desk. He wants to send her home, but he can't because they're in the middle of a crisis. Alan (Albert Hall) uses his political influence to punish Palmer (Dennis Haysbert). After his offer to resign is refused, Wayne (D.B. Weaver (Laura Innes) heads to Doc Magoo's on personal business and fails to answer her pager when Chen (Ming-Na) and Malucchi (Erik Palladino) need her. An off-duty Carter (Anthony Edwards) deals with victims of a rock-concert stampede, tries to rectify a fatal error made by Chen and Malucchi in Weaver's absence, and injures his back. Weaver fires Chen for her error. Benton (Eriq La Salle) learns that the mother of his son, Reese (Matthew Watkins), has been killed in an accident. Vondie Curtis-Hall, who guest starred as a transvestite in an earlier ER episode, here replaces Victor Williams in the recurring role of Roger, the man who claims to be the true biological father of Reese. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

In this interesting a film, set 500 years before Columbus came to the New World, a culture clash ensues between a European man and an Indian tribe in New England. The story is based upon the legend of a Celtic slave aboard a Viking ship visiting North America who explores the new land. In the film, that slave is Kilian who after his capture by Norsemen, longs to win his freedom and go home. He instead finds himself marooned and dying of a snake-bite on the New England shores. He is rescued by a local tribe. He gradually learns their language and culture while trying not to fall in love with Turtle, a young native. Kilian feels great conflict as he tries to decide whether it is better to remain there, or attempt to return to Ireland. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
