As produced by and originally screened on PBS, this documentary commences with nothing less than a summation of many of the major issues facing the global community in the years of the early 21st century. The program then moves into discussions of how key world leaders and thinkers from religion, politics and other spheres approach each issue from different angles, and speculates on how those individuals might begin to work together to come up with fundamental, workable solutions despite differences in individual beliefs and philosophies. Significantly, as an extension of this, the program asks key questions about the roles of faith, morality and ethics in shaping such solutions, and looks at past religious movements that have successfully reshaped society in positive ways, including the teachings of the Dalai Lama, Mohandas K. Gandhi and Desmond Tutu. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide

Following up his debut, Johnny Suede, director Tom DiCillo presented this filmmaking comedy that allegedly draws much from DiCillo's experiences on the set of the 1991 Brad Pitt vehicle. Steve Buscemi stars as Nick Reve, the long-suffering director of a no-budget independent film. If he's not dealing with his heartbroken director of photography Wolf (Dermot Mulroney), Reve is trying to keep his leading lady Nicole (DiCillo mainstay Catherine Keener) happy or ignore the pseudo-auteur suggestions of Pitt-inspired name-actor Chad Palomino (James LeGros). All the while, the audience can't ever be sure if the scene they're watching is a dream or reality. ~ Matthew Tobey, All Movie Guide
