Filmed in Bulgaria, this made-for-cable thriller draws upon both Greek and Herbraic legend for its inspiration. Shiri Appleby stars as Liz Parker, a normal 24-year-old woman living a normal existence. At least, that's the case until Liz is informed that she is actually the immortal demoness Lilith, who in Biblical times had been the first wife of Adam and thus the evil doppelganger of Eve! Having cut a murderous swath through the world for centuries, Lilith had disappeared from view when she was hypnotized into believing she was an orphaned mortal--and thus "Liz Parker" was born. Now, a secret society called Faith is determined to bring Lilith back to life and to rechannel her evil powers for the forces of Good. It is up to Faith's chief agent William Shaw to keep Liz/Lilith on the path of righteousness, a task made doubly difficult by the fact that Lilith had killed Shaw's son years earlier. Naturally, there are those in the world who hope to benefit from the activities of the "bad" Lilith, and there's also a certain demon who must be destroyed in order to save mankind. San Francisco is in the thrall of a blue moon that rises once every 50 years. This phenomenon results in an act of euphoria on the part of an irresponsible Whitelighter named Danny (T.J. The hectic early days of live television are spoofed in this irreverent made-for-cable movie. The story is told from the viewpoint of Audrey Drummond (Christina Hendricks), a naïve young script girl hired by the newly formed Empire Television Network in 1948. Among Audrey's colleagues are the network's owner, eccentric scientist Doc Powers (Christopher Lloyd); Doc's blonde, pneumatic young "trophy wife" Marion (Molly Ringwald); the Colonel (Dylan Baker), Empire's visionary programming chief; and Walt Kaplan (Michael B. Silver), a studio floor manager who aspires to be a director. The story revolves around Empire's efforts to stage the first live TV production of Thornton Wilder's Our Town, while trying desperately to adhere to Doc Powers' cast-in-stone broadcast edicts: "No profanity, no suicide, no cleavage." Amidst a flurry of missed cues, fainting actors, collapsing scenery, and malfunctioning equipment, the network also manages to outrage its sponsors by allowing a black musician (Sharif Atkins) to actually (gasp! egad!) speak directly into the camera. John de Lancie returns as the mercurial life force Q, this time with his troublesome son Q2 (played by de Lancie's real-life son, Keegan de Lancie) in tow. Having gone from infant to adolescent in only four years, Q2's personality hasn't quite matured to the level of his physiology, and before long he all but wrecks the Voyager with his destructive pranks. Much to Janeway's (Kate Mulgrew) dismay, Q leaves his son behind on Voyager, hoping that the crew will be able to straighten the boy out. Executive-produced by actor Anthony Edwards, the made for TV Border Line is a showcase for Edwards' ER costar Sherry Stringfield, cast as attorney and single mom Allison Westlin. As the representive of the LA-based Fuller Adoption Agency, Allison has never had any reason to question the integrity of her employers--until she stumbles upon the murder of an Asian woman. Investigating, Allison unhappily concludes that the Fuller Agency has been using illegal strongarm tactics abroad, literally snatching babies from the arms of poor and helpless Asian mothers to service their customers. Working hand in glove with Private Eye Mariano (Christopher Reid) and immigration officer Macivers (James LeGros), Allison puts her own life on the line--not to mention those of her daughter and her Hispanic nanny (Elizabeth Pena)--to see that justice is served.
