"When am I?" John Locke's chronological confusion sums up Season 5, which hopscotches dizzyingly between the 1970s and 2008 as it charts the Oceanic Six's return to the island and reveals important island secrets. On the island, Locke (Terry O'Quinn) is the new leader of the Others. But in L.A., he's dead, and his death plays a key role in getting Jack (Matthew Fox), Kate (Evangeline Lilly), Hurley (Jorge Garcia) and Sun (Yunjin Kim) to return via Ajira Airways. Sayid (Naveen Andrews) refuses to join his fellow former castaways, but winds up being escorted onto the Guam-bound flight by a bounty hunter named Ilana (Zuleikha Robinson). Ben (Michael Emerson) must return, too, to face judgment for allowing his daughter Alex to die. Their flight -- with Frank Lapidus (Jeff Fahey) at the controls -- is a bumpy one, but the final destination is indeed the island. Ben, Sun, Ilana and Frank remain fixed in time upon their return to the island, but Jack, Kate, Hurley and Sayid are flashed back in time to 1977, where they are reunited with Sawyer (Josh Holloway) and Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell). After surviving a series of time-travel flashes, Sawyer and Juliet landed in the 1970s and forged a close relationship with each other and the Dharma Initiative, which also welcomes Miles Straume (Ken Leung). Meanwhile, Miles' colleague Daniel Faraday (Jeremy Davies) embarks on a time-traveling mission that introduces him to a nuclear bomb named Jughead and a young woman named Ellie. The woman, feeling that the police investigation will be unable to catch the perpetrators, begins to live in constant fear. This outlook results in the woman eventually dispatching vigilante justice. A passenger jet breaks apart in mid-air, crash-landing on a tropical island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. Left without the creature comforts and basic necessities of civilization, the 48 survivors are forced to rely upon one another to stay alive -- and given the personality quirks of these survivors, this won't be easy during the first season of the ABC hit series Lost. Generally with the help of flashbacks, viewers learn a number of deep dark secrets about the castaways on a need-to-know basis, especially the demons plaguing Dr. Jack Shephard (Matthew Fox) and one-hit-wonder rock star Charlie Pace (Dominic Monaghan). Every so often, a crisis arises for the principal purpose of revealing a hitherto unknown and unsuspected aspect of one of the characters. Inevitably, hostilities both minor and serious arise from the basic fundamental differences among the survivors: Korean couple Jin and Sun Kwon (Daniel Dae Kim, Yunjin Kim) are unable to uphold their family traditions under the circumstances, while their inability to speak English creates an additional barrier between themselves and the others; and the MacGyver-like resourcefulness of former Iraqi Republican Guard Sayid (Naveen Andrews) is not enough to overcome the racism of some of his fellow passengers. Then there is the unfriendly aura of the island itself, with its inscrutable topography, and the bizarre menagerie of wild animals, ranging from a polar bear to a (possible) dinosaur! Also, the discovery in one episode of two long-dead bodies certainly does nothing to uplift the rescue hopes of the hapless survivors. And finally, there seems to be someone else on the island...someone not on the passenger list...someone who kidnaps two of the castaways and threatens to kill off the rest one by one. American independent filmmaker Jane Weinstock makes her feature debut with the romantic comedy Easy, shot on digital video. Marguerite Moreau plays Jamie, a single gal living in Los Angeles who makes a living by giving creative names to consumer products. Although she's adept at catching men for her own pleasure, she decides to give up sex for 90 days. The decision is supported by her stoner friend, Martin (D.B. Woodside), and her married sister, Laura (Emily Deschanel). However, some handsome fellows -- poet John (Naveen Andrews) and talk show host Mick (Brian F. O'Byrne) -- cause her to rethink her plan. This made-for-TV movie was based on the true story of the men who created a gold mine by creating the first exotic dance club for women, and the bitter rivalry that tore them apart. Steve Banerjee (Naveen Andrews) was an Indian immigrant running a failing nightclub in Los Angeles when he met Nick Denoia (Paul Hipp), a choreographer scouting locations for a television show. Hoping to bring in business, Banerjee had been experimenting with presenting male strippers; Denoia suggested that the idea wasn't bad, but the presentation was all wrong, and he suggested they pool their resources to open a classy night spot featuring good looking and well-choreographed male dancers who would attract an upscale female clientele. Banerjee and Denoia named the club Chippendales, and it was soon a major success, but Denoia began angering Banerjee by telling the press he alone hatched the idea for the club, while Denoia was angry with his partner for overcrowding the club, trying to take full control the business, and using violence to discourage other clubs from featuring male dancers. Denoia began making plans to open a Chippendales franchise in New York behind Banerjee's back, and when Banerjee discovered this, the increasingly paranoid club owner decided it was time to take his partner out of the business once and for all. The Chippendales Murder also stars Alex DeBoe, Victor Webster, and Dan Horton as three of the club's star dancers. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Barbara Hershey stars in this understated road movie. Kate (Hershey) flags down a cab one rainy night in Times Square and tells the British-Indian cabbie (Naveen Andrews) to drive until they get to the desert. Fleeing from an abusive relationship, she offers the driver $300 a day for a week. As they wend their way through America's wide expanse, these two lonely souls begin to talk and understand one another. From the director of the acclaimed Salaam Bombay, My Own Country is based on the best-selling memoir of an Ethiopian doctor who treated HIV and AIDS patients in Johnson City in the smoky mountains of Eastern Tennessee in 1985. The film narrates the tribulations of a physician who takes home the problems of his patients. He has no time for his wife or his son, who are slowly becoming strangers to him. He resists the temptations of a blond nurse but gets drunk 'like a man' in the garage of a auto repairman friend. The film abounds in clichés, bad acting, and stereotypical characters, and its treatment of homosexuality is also questionable. A pregnant back-up singer in a Melbourne band finds herself saddled with two fellow travellers (one of whom is the father of her child), who are using her to escape the vengeful drug dealer they just robbed. When Mimi first asks her lover Haniff to travel with her to Perth so she can make peace with her estranged mother, he refuses. But then his pal Dean robs his own brother Jerry in part to feed his own addiction but also to spite Jerry for going out with Ariel, the girl Dean wants for himself. Jerry is a tough cookie and does not take the theft well. Armed and dangerous, he sets off for revenge. Needing to get out of town pronto, the two fugitives decide to tag along with Mimi. While speeding across the desert, the trio pick up Morris, an aging hippie who makes his living singing sad folk songs in cafes and bars. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

In this visually striking saga of one woman's search for personal and sexual freedom in 16th century India, Maya (Indira Varma) is a servant girl who is a handmaid to Tara (Sarita Choudhury), a princess. Maya and Tara have been close friends since childhood, and when Rasa Devi (Rekha), an elegant courtesan, is brought in to instruct Tara in the lessons of the Kama Sutra, the handbook of the art of physical love, Maya is allowed to observe. Rasa teaches Tara the Dance of Enticement as a prelude to her upcoming marriage to the King, Raj Singh (Naveen Andrews), but the beautiful Maya turns out to be the more capable student, and when Raj invites Maya to his bedchamber, he proves to be no match for her seductive powers. Needless to say, Tara is furious when she learns that Maya has stolen Raj's heart, and Maya is banished from the palace. On the road, Maya soon meets a handsome sculptor, Jai Kumar (Ramon Tikaram), who is entranced by Maya's beauty and sexual prowess; she soon becomes his lover and favorite model. However, King Raj is still obsessed with Maya, and while Tara has won his hand in marriage, he has taken to drowning himself in opium and mindless sex with his mistresses when not trying to win Maya back. Several of the erotic scenes in Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love were trimmed so the film could receive an "R" rating for its American theatrical release, but it appeared uncut on home video; the film had to be trimmed more extensively to gain a theatrical release in India, where it was filmed. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

In the new tradition of "Tales of the City," this long, complex British satire profiles a decade in the life of a British family. The story opens in a South London suburb where main protagonist Karim Amir lives with his Indian father, Haroon, and his English mother during the 1970's. Haroon is a civil servant who makes extra cash, and gains notoriety for teaching "Eastern Philosophies," of which he knows nothing. Still, as Buddhism is in fashion, people pay him a bundle to hear his vapid, happy ramblings. When not preaching, Haroon is trysting with a rich follower, Eva Kay. Karim's mother learns of the affair and leaves with his younger brother. Karim stays with his father and his new love. He begins a career on the stage. The story also follows Charlie, Eva's boy as he aspires to become a rocker. Other plots and subplots abound in this film. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
