Tom Bell plays a disgruntled young Brit who becomes bored by his job and his marriage. Bell impulsively launches an affair with 15-year-old actress Olivia Hussey. But fear not: this isn't going to be "The Joey Buttafuco Story". Rather, both Bell and Hussey are brought to their senses when she thinks she's pregnant. Judy Carne, at the tail end of her Laugh-In-generated fame, is adequate as Bell's loving wife. In this crime drama, a mugger accidently kills a man during a robbery and finds himself blackmailed into cracking a nightclub safe. The mugger escapes by double crossing the blackmailer by stealing the money and his girlfriend to boot. Unfortunately the police are in hot pursuit. This is a routine tale about the vice squad versus pornographer and blackmailer Augie Cortona (Terence Morgan). After the petty criminal gets out of prison, he discovers his old partners in crime are not interested in him anymore, and the prostitution ring he once bossed is controlled by someone else. His solution is to set up a fake photographer's and model's studio during the day that becomes a place where porno photo men can do their work at night, as call girls engage in their trade with unsuspecting customers. The photographs bring in extra lucre through a blackmail scheme -- Cortona makes the hookers' clients pay to keep their activities quiet. Gamboling along in a series of sketches without great regard for anything except the next joke, this is a light-minded, unevenly funny comedy by family-oriented director Don Chaffey, put together not long before he began working for Disney studios. At the nexus of the action are David (Bob Monkhouse) and Brian (Ronnie Stevens), two students in the dental school, and Sam (Kenneth Connor) the petty thief who tricks them into selling stolen dental equipment. Humor derives from the antics of the two students after they discover the truth, as Brian the thief poses as a dental student. A talented director (Charles Saunders) and cast cannot do very much with this weak story about an odd double deception. Two con-men, former Commander Binham-Ryley (Richard Murdoch) and former Major Rory McQuarry (William Kendall), are just out of prison for their dubious money-making schemes. They decide to hook up together to see how to bilk the next mark, when they meet a wealthy widow who obviously cannot see through them, and she hires them to run a factory for her. In this tepid thriller blind switchboard operator Jane Pringle (Patricia Dainton) inherits the valuable brooch of a recently slain neighbor. Jane was unfortunately present during the murder and in the midst of the violence, the killer accidentally brushed up against her. Fearing that the one touch will be enough for Jane to identify him, the killer plots her demise. he fears that she will be able to identify him. Count Five and Die is a neat British-made programmer set just before the D-Day invasion. Nigel Patrick plays a British major who heads a group of special agents, dedicated to misleading the Nazis into thinking the invasion will take place in Holland. The Allied spies, which include American Jeffrey Hunter and Frenchwoman Annemarie Duringer operate under cover as the owners of a documentary filmmaking firm. The plan is nearly destroyed when one of the spies turns out to be a Nazi agent. The title Count Five and Die refers to the length of time its takes for the traditional cyanide capsules (always doled out to secret agents in films of this nature) to take effect. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

In this comedy, a jewel thief hides his loot on an abandoned scow. Later he is captured and thrown in jail after assaulting someone. Two models end up buying the boat. Slim Callaghan, a fictional British private detective in the American "hard boiled" mode, was the central character in several popular Peter Cheyney novels, in a stage play by Gerald Verner, and in the 1948 movie programmer Uneasy Terms, which top-billed Michael Rennie. Meet Mr. Callaghan stars Derrick DeMarney, no stranger to detective films, in the title role. In this "pilot" for a proposed Callaghan movie series, Slim is required to solve the death of a much-hated rich man. Meet Mr. Callagahan made money (no surprise, since it cost practically nothing to make), but no sequels resulted. Originally released in England as simply The Diamond, this fast-paced melodrama stars Dennis O'Keefe as an American federal agent, assigned to the London beat. On the trail of the gang who robbed a US Treasury vault, O'Keefe works shoulder-to-shoulder with Scotland Yard inspector Philip Friend. It develops that the gang is in a cahoots with a London mob, who plan to pay off the treasury thieves with synthetic diamonds. Most of Diamond Wizard is fluent exposition; the big thrills arrive in the final two reels, when the crooks fall out.
