British comedy duo Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise make the movie from the small screen to the silver screen with this zany tale of two traveling salesmen swept up in a South American revolution. Eric and Ernie are eager to test their salesmen skills in a new setting, but upon arriving in South America it quickly becomes apparent that the continent and its people are in a serious state of duress. Now, in order to save both of their necks, Morecambe assumes the role of a dead revolutionary's son. Made in England at a time when Morecambe and Wise were popular with TV audiences, this movie is as good as it is because of the inclusion of three of their more popular routines. A surprisingly complicated plot, though very thin, keeps the audience confused, however, in a tale rife with political intrigue, a British-Russian pact and other espionage-type complications which keep the bumbling spies hopping as they try to catch a ring of saboteurs. ~ Tana Hobart, All Movie Guide

In this dated, verbose, and ordinary wartime drama by Danish director Edvin Tiemroth, the issue of active resistance versus passive acceptance is considered. The setting is Denmark during the last year of the war, and a local doctor has his neutrality challenged for the first time. So far, he has survived without getting involved in the partisan movement against the occupying German forces. But now a British agent needs the doctor's help in eliminating some of the Germans and is putting pressure on the medic to leave his neutral stance behind and join the resistance fighters. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide
