In this drama from the writing and directing team of Marcello Baldi and Dario Baldi, Narciso is an elderly man who has spent nearly all his life living and working in the mountains of Trentino. Narciso has a grown son, Thomas, but they've fallen out of contact and haven't spoken to one another in nearly twenty years. Narciso is pleasantly surprised when Thomas calls and tells him he'll be paying his a visit, but the son delivers some news the father wasn't expecting -- Thomas has married a Muslim woman of Middle Eastern heritage, and they've chosen to raise their son in the Muslim faith. In a village where nearly everyone is Catholic, the arrival of Thomas's wife and child is something of a shock, and both the father and his neighbors are not certain of what to do about this new family. Narciso, dietro i cannoni, davanti ai muli (which roughly translates as "Narcisco, Behind the Cannon and In Front of the Mules") was an official selection at the 2009 Palm Beach International Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
