Psychotherapist Dr. Ian Lazarre becomes dangerously depressed after his beloved first wife is killed in a car wreck. Though he has since married a woman who looks exactly like her, he is still unhappy and drinking heavily. Wanting to help him, his new wife and his best friend send him to a special rehab clinic. Director Andrew Davis followed up the action blockbuster The Fugitive (1993) with this Capra-esque box office dud that nevertheless featured engaging dual performances by Andy Garcia. Garcia stars as Ruben and Robby, twin brothers who were raised separately and have become total opposites. Ruben has recently inherited a 40,000-acre Santa Barbara estate from his eccentric guardian, Mona (Holland Taylor). A friend to artisans and migrant workers, Ruben wants to transform the land into a commune, while the cold-hearted Robby wants to steal it from his brother, develop it and make millions. Muddying the waters are Lou (Alan Arkin), a quick-thinking ex-cop and pal of Ruben's who is able to manipulate the law to his own purposes, Eddie (Joe Pantoliano), a shark lawyer who plays both sides against the middle, and Ruben's ex-wife Laura (Rachel Ticotin). Stewart Granger plays a Joseph Mengele type in the grim Hell Hunters. Hiding out in jungles of South America, Granger plans to poison the population of Los Angeles as revenge for the toppling of the Third Reich. Nazi hunters Maud Adams and George Lazenby race against time to foil the old Nazi's scheme. They find themselves with an unexpected ally in the form of Candice Daly, whose mother died in a concentration camp at Granger's hands. On her first day at an all-girls Catholic High School in Chicago, shy and reserved Janey Glenn (Sarah Jessica Parker) meets the wild and wacky Lynne Sands (Helen Hunt). Even though her oppressive dad, Col. Glenn (Ed Lauter), won't let her go, Lynne talks her into sneaking out to try out for a spot on the beloved show Dance TV. Janey wows the judges with her gymnastic ability and makes first cuts, conveniently assigned to a cute dance partner: blue-collar bad boy Jeff Malene (Lee H. Montgomery). They compete against the bratty rich girl Natalie Sands (Holly Gagnier), who sabotages them because she wants Jeff and the contest for herself. Janey and Lynne get revenge by inviting punks and street kids to crash her debutante ball. Natalie then resorts to making her wealthy industrialist dad, J.P. Sands (Morgan Woodward), threaten Jeff; If he doesn't let Natalie win, his dad (Biff Yeager) could lose his job at the factory. It all leads up to the live television broadcast of the Dance TV contest, right when Janey's dad races to the studio to stop her. "She's the world's sexiest photographer! He's fashion's hottest model!" And Cover-Up was one of the most over-hyped TV series of the 1984-85 season. Introduced in this 2-hour pilot film are Jennifer O'Neill as fashion photographer Dani Reynolds, who spends most of her waking hours as an undercover spy, an Jon Erik-Hexum as Mac Harper, the ex-Green Beret posing as Dani's top model. Together, the two agents investigate the murder of Dani's husband, a high-ranking diplomat.
