Two stories of love and responsibility separated by four decades have a common link in this drama from writer and director Jean-Marc Vallee. In 2011, Antoine (Kevin Parent) has a life most people would envy -- he's a successful club DJ living in Montreal with an international following, he has a beautiful girlfriend Rose (Evelyne Brochu), and is raising two healthy daughters. However, Rose is not Antoine's first love, and he's still infatuated with his ex-wife Carole (Helene Florent), the mother of his children. Carole hopes he'll someday return to her, though despite his feelings there's little evidence to suggest he will. In 1969, Jacqueline (Vanessa Paradis) is a single mother who is raising a seven-year-old son Laurent (Marin Gerrier). Laurent was born with Down syndrome, and is not expected to live past 25; Jacqueline is determined to do whatever she can for her boy during the time he has, but as the stress of these demands take their toll, we learn that she and Carole share a special connection. Named for a song beloved by both Antoine and Laurent, Café de flore was an official selection at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

The premise of MTV's popular Unplugged series is to strip away the layering of high-end production of a popular song, pare it down to its essential elements, and present an acoustic version of that song performed by the artist. Some of MTV's remarkable moments collected for this video include 10,000 Maniacs' "These are Days," Soul Asylum performing "Black Gold," "Black Boys on Mopeds" by Sinead O'Connor, "Listen Up" by Oasis, "Just Like Heaven" by the Cure, "Lightning Crashes" by Live, and the Church performing "Under the Milky Way." ~ Forrest Spencer, Rovi

Mixing imaginative but accessible melodies with intelligent (and often gloomy) lyrical conceits, the Cure were a group who produced expressive and challenging music that also connected with a mass audience. Massively popular in Europe, the Cure were also one of the first alternative rock groups to break big in the United States, scoring Top Ten albums and selling out arenas without the benefit of any appreciable commercial radio airplay. Rock Masters: The Cure is taken from a 1984 concert at the Barrowlands in Scotland, which was videotaped for broadcast by the BBC; selections include "The Walk," "10:15 Saturday Night," "A Forest," "Killing an Arab," and more. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

As a volume of the series "Music in Review: The Essential Music of the Eighties," The Cure: Music in Review consists of two DVDs and an extensive book that trace the history of Robert Smith's trend-setting post-punk band from its debut LP, Three Imaginary Boys, through the critically acclaimed 1989 issue Disintegration. The DVDs feature a documentary that provides a detailed analysis and investigation of those factors that elevated the band to greatness through endless variations in membership, relying on rare concert footage of the Cure performing their greatest hits, including "The Top," "Bananafishbones," and "Piggy in the Mirror," and on exclusive interviews with pop music critics who analyze the albums on a one-by-one basis. Per the other volumes in the series, the material is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound for the ultimate listening experience. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi
