A man trying to save his relationship with the woman he loves finds himself sinking into a quicksand of small lies and half-truths in this comedy. Paul (Jason Lee) is a regular guy who is engaged to marry Karen (Selma Blair); while Paul loves Karen, he's more than a bit nervous around her family, even though her father (James Brolin) has already given him a job in the family business. Shortly before the wedding, Paul's friends throw him a bachelor party, complete with a boatload of liquor and a squadron of grass-skirt-clad tiki dancers. Paul strikes up a conversation with one of the dancers, the cheerful if inept Becky (Julia Stiles), and the next morning, he wakes up bleary-eyed with a massive hangover -- and Becky in bed next to him. Paul soon receives a phone call from Karen saying she's stopping by for a visit, and Paul scrambles to get Becky out of his apartment. Paul attempts to explain some incriminating evidence with a few white lies, but a messy situation gets messier when Paul runs into Becky at a pre-wedding family get-together...and discovers she's Karen's cousin. Things start off bad and quickly take a turn for the worse when Matt (Patrick Muldoon) takes a trip to visit his girlfriend Dawn's (Keegan Connor Tracy) reclusive backwoods parents in this dramatic thriller from director Uwe Boll. Haunted after having caused the death of a young girl in a drunk driving accident years before, Matt's inner demons tear at his insides as he attempts to put the past behind him and start a new life with Dawn. Stopping off at a hotel for a quick round of lovemaking before they venture into the woods, Matt must subsequently fend off an axe-wielding psychopath before discovering that Dawn has disappeared. Though Matt soon finds the route to the house in the woods, he is unexpectedly attacked by Dawn and imprisoned by the family. Put on trial by the family for killing their youngest daughter in the drunk driving incident, Matt's nightmare soon becomes a waking reality as he desperately struggles to escape the clutches of Dawn's family and maintain his slipping sanity. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

A man has a near-death experience and awakens to find himself spiritually attached to another who went through a similar experience in this horror movie. The story is based on a Dean Koontz novel. Hatch Harrison, an antique dealer, finds himself in an extraordinary position following the car wreck in which he was broad-sided by a semi-truck. Although his wife and teenage daughter survive, Hatch was actually dead for two hours before innovative resuscitator Dr. Jonas Nybern was able to bring him back. Hatch tries to resume his normal life, but encounters difficulty when he begins having horrific hallucinations. It turns out that the "visions" are really the experiences of Vassago, a Satanist who ritually kills people. Somehow he and the killer are connected. Vassago, too can experience events in Hatch's life; he begins to threaten Hatch by telling him he will use his daughter for a virgin sacrifice.
