Released from prison on his 21st birthday, Antonio (Saved by the Bell's Mario Lopez) pays a visit to his older brother, Horatio (Mark Espinoza), an uptight attorney embarrassed by his Latino heritage. The brothers are connected by their work for crime boss Armando De La Rosa (Efrain Figueroa), for whom Horatio provides "consulting" services and Antonio collects debts. When De la Rosa enlists Antonio to bully the proprietor of a youth shelter off his property to make way for a casino, the young man changes his priorities, thanks in no small part to his friendship with the proprietor (Richard Lynch) and his burgeoning relationship with the old man's granddaughter (Elizabeth Bogush). This sexually-tinged supernatural thriller involves the owner of an art gallery (Mark Hamill) who falls victim to the seductive and dangerous wiles of a coven of suburban witches -- the kind who brew their magic potions in the microwave -- when he enters a torrid affair with the smoldering Cassandra (Appolonia). When their relationship is threatened by a half-hearted devotion to his long-suffering girlfriend (Amanda Wyss), Hamill finds himself the tormented victim of a barrage of hexes, which run the gamut from horrific hallucinations to subversion of his will... and ultimately lead to madness and murder. This is a well-crafted film, but the potential for steamy eroticism is strangely underplayed for a film packaged as an "erotic thriller" -- no doubt due to an obvious lack of sexual chemistry between the two bed-wrestling leads. Perceptive viewers will probably beat the "surprise" climax to the punch. ~ Cavett Binion, All Movie Guide

It probably takes an intimate acquaintance with East Germany's famously awful car, a smoky, noisy two-cylinder lawnmower on wheels, the Trabant 601, to fully appreciate the jokes in this extremely popular, celebrity-filled comedy. In the story, Gunther (German television star Thomas Gotttschalk) is an East German inventor who has journeyed with his homely car to an inventor's convention in Hollywood: he has figured out a way to get his Trabbi to run on turnip juice and zoom like a sports car. When his odd car is stolen, he tries to get it back, but L.A. and it's culture are alien to him and he is very much a fish out of water, despite the friendly advice he receives from Billy Dee Williams as a knowledgeable parking-lot attendant. Look for cameos by Milton Berle and Dom DeLuise, among others. This Trabbi film is a sequel to the enormously popular comedy Go, Trabi, Go. ~ Clarke Fountain, All Movie Guide
