Like many another young Israeli, Rafi never gave much thought to the fact that when he reached a certain age, he would be expected to serve in the Israeli Army and that he would experience active duty in combat. It certainly never occurred to him that he might be injured, and if it did, it never occurred to him that he would be crippled, as he was. Now he must try to learn to cope with a life which is vastly different from anything he ever imagined, and at first he has nothing but bitterness. An older veteran tries to help him learn to cope, and his relatives work hard to adjust as well. However, only his sister-in-law Maya seems to understand his state of mind and doesn't freak out at his easily provoked displays of temper. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi

In this weak musical with derivative songs and routine acting, the Kuni and Muni Lemel twins are off to Egypt to bring an Israeli Torah to a Jewish community in Cairo in exchange for valuable antique coins. More important than the story of the film is the fact that this was the first time that an Israeli production crew shot scenes in Egypt. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

This is a light comedy centered around the theme of teenagers having a good time during their summer vacation, which includes smoking marijuana, dumping on the rich kids, and other forgettable aspects of the more indulgent teen years. There is also some predictable nudity, given the combination of pot, teenagers, and summer. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

With a dated format that runs along like a vaudeville production, the numbers in this musical-variety show are barely strung together by the thin storyline of a group of soldiers coming to a village and engaging in romantic overtures with the local women. Performances are bracketed by dialogue as the "story" moves from one episode to the next. The main intent is to present the songs and routines on film that army performers used to do for their audiences. This type of light musical has no exact counterpart in the West but still entertained Israeli movie-goers in the early 1980s. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

The plot in this improbable Israeli romance revolves around a sperm donor and his later "emergency" vasectomy. Dan (Yuda Barkin) is a college student. His lady-love is Hurit (Mona Silberstein), but though he wants to marry her, they face some strong parental opposition. For some time, Dan has raised some extra cash by acting as a sperm donor. This becomes important because he is subjected to a vasectomy as part of his treatment for injuries he suffers during a plane crash. When he and Hurit marry, they have fights and arguments over their childless state. Dan pursues a pregnant woman whom he thinks may have received his sperm donation, and he begins to fall in love with her. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi
